On Sunday 14th Sept Gwas and I were trekking in Runcorn nature reserve (which incidentally includes a hill and quite a cliffy area)- As is common with us – we were following the wiles of the dowsing rods – with the ‘find the most energetic place on the hill?”. With Gwas leading and me following we followed – what Gwas would call ‘the old trails’ i.e. ones which are energetically much pleasing and often overgrown but easier to walk. Such paths are easily identify as when you walk along then it bounces you from one side to the other of the width of the trail (you have to experience it to know what I mean).
Anyway the trusted rods led us to a open space – which I presume was near if not the top of the hill. This space had a slight rise which must have been about 30 feet in diameter. Both Gwas and I confirmed that it was a energetic centre and we both found two or three energy spirals on the ‘mound’ and around it.
As Gwas explored a nearby tree (his druidry coming to the fore) I explored the energetic configuration of the mound. It was a true mish mash of energies. I got readings for male, female, earth, neutral, sun and moon energies – indeed I even got readings for fire, air and water elements too. It was an energetically confused site to be sure.
And then of course there was the pylon – did I for get to mention that? About 30/50 feet ‘in front’ of the mound was an electricity pylon. Both Gwas and I felt its ‘tainted’ energies as soon as we got there and for a while it was like working with the ‘Sword of Damocles’ hanging over one’s head.
Indeed, we knew the answer but the question had to be asked. “Was the pylon causing any energetic problems with the mounds energies?” – er Yes! Dumbo – it’s funny how we have animism-ised the rods – sometimes we do get the odd feeling of laughter/smack in the face when we ask an obvious or daft question.
Several questions later we had determined that the ‘electrical’ energy from the mast was causing great damage to the site and to the energies therein. We also concluded that the sites energies were being captured or mixed in with the electricity and sent to the homes were the power was being supplied to and that this mixture of energy was bad for those houses.
Gwas, was quite concerned by this news as he lives nearby and so he dowsed as to whether his home was in the ‘line of fire’ fortunately not.
I do go question mad sometimes – well all of the time – and so we also found that given the state of affairs should the pylon remain the sites energies would be gone within 50 to 100 years!
Both Gwas and I were dowsing like mad – throwing more and more information across to each other with each result. I asked whether Gwas’s druidry skills could help here and he asked whether ‘We could do something to help the place” in both instances we were truly disappointed by a No response.
I guess it kind of disheartened us a bit and as Gwas was busy with some tree dowsing I was stood on the mound speculating – then and honestly I don’t know why I asked – but it suddenly came to me, perhaps this isn’t druid territory? and with that a question formed in my mind, “Can the ‘magician who creates his own worlds‘ help this site?” it was a daft question but I dowsed it and the answer was Yes! Are you sure? Yes! Are you very sure (After all I ain’t no Druid person) Yes – get on with it!
In a bit of an apologetic voice filled with – I know this sounds like my ego talking, but – way I asked Gwas to dowse whether ‘I’ could help the site. He did – whilst I was stammering – ego issues – Gwas dowsed the question and came to life enthusiastically waving my excuses aside – fantastic! lets see how…
Armed with this positive response we dowsed more questions and found that although I would be the primary, Gwas’s druidic tools could help too.
Reiki always seems to be my first recourse when working with energies, crystals being my second. Energy is energy right? We’ll let you know when we’ve figured it out. But since I am more aware of crystal/reiki lore than Gwas – his focus being ‘root and branch’ as we shall see – I figured maybe its these tools that are of use here.
So I asked whether a barrier of crystals (since I carry a stash) would be of use here – interestingly – the answer was a definitive and very strong No! I will have to think on this a lot more as to why ‘that’ answer was no, before I speculate.
Further investigation revealed that I was to create a energetic barrier around the site channelling Reiki energy and that Gwas was to utilised his skills in drawing the energies of the tree (located on the opposite side of the mound to the pylon) and so we were set.
Having both ‘determined’ that the place to sit was facing the tree, backs to the pylon, on energetic spirals. I began by spending plenty of time setting my own personal protection up. Its funny but I often forget to do that – but here it was almost as if the Genius Loci was aiding me in protecting myself first.
The protection proper began with me opening my crown chakra and channelling energy through the upper chakras into my palms – there I gathered it into a scintillating bright white orb of energy and with each deep breath, I drew in more and more energy until the ball had expanded in my minds eye to encompass the whole mound – synchronistically – at this point a fly buzzed by my left ear and I said to myself – when that fly buzzes in my ear again then the protection will be completed.
By now the energy sphere was pulsing with bright white light and I decided to bring in what Gwas was ‘offering’ – I opened myself up and felt a ‘whoosh’ as if a vacuum had sucked in air and the whole demeanour of the energy changed.
It began by the sphere changing from white pulsing light to a brown and green – nature – mix. It then began to grow vines and roots and branches as if it was transforming into a globe made of tough roots and earth- I was amazed – because none of ‘this’ was coming from me – I didn’t visualise anything like this or have the expectation of it – it just happened! Sitting inside was a comforting and safe place.
I held the barrier in place – calling the Reiki temporal symbols into play as I wanted the barrier to remain in place for as long as possible. It was then that the universe provided me with a sign – yes, the fly buzzed back and I ‘knew’ it was done. Again though – as if hinted at from the Genius Loci – I instinctively spent more time energetically disconnecting from the place than I normally do.
And it was done, I will let Gwas relate his version of events as he will.
I connected to and dowsed the line of protection – expecting it to go around the mound and to my most honest and pleasant surprise it not only incorporated the mound but also the tree that Gwas had introduced.
I wondered what effects our ‘interventions’ would have on the site – and the answer was simply that it had added a year maybe a bit more to the energetic survival of the Genius Loci.
Other notes on neutral leys that we found there I will leave to Gwas’s more knowledgeable hand.
