Shamanic Lands 3 – The Energy of Dragons

Shamanic Lands 3 – The Energy of Dragons
Dragons, Other reports, Theory

This is part one of two posts describing the information that Dr.Patrick MacManaway presented at Shamanic Lands this year. I took so many notes that I could barely keep up and I had to take several photos of the screens because there was so much information on them! It was by no means a “dry” … Read More “Shamanic Lands 3 – The Energy of Dragons” »

Immortality and Mad Jacks Tomb

I often feel that people put too much emphasis on ley lines. These invisible subtle energy pathways seem to hold an endless fascination with some people. For me, the more interesting energies are their constituent energies – the male and female earth and celestial energies that ley lines transport from point to point in the landscape.

Nevertheless, on a sunny Spring evening, just as the sun was beginning to set, I found myself at one of Sussex’s most odd structures called Mad Jack Fuller’s Tomb – an over-sized pyramid tomb in the very small village of Brightling. I was therefore quite surprised to discover that the most interesting thing about this structure was its ley line connection, and how that connected with the idea of immortality.

Mad Jack’s Tomb: Over-inflated ego construction actually serves a special purpose

The tomb is in the grounds of a beautiful church building – again slightly larger than one would expect for a tiny village. Squire Fuller seems to have invested quite a bit of money in this area!

Feeding a ley line

I began my dowsing work. I had very soon identified four strong spots where earth energy was rising to the surface of the earth in a strong vortex. There were two male energy spots and two female ones. They seemed to be balanced and positioned on either side of the tomb.

When I traced the flow of these energies they were being drawn from the central vortex where they emerged and then were being attracted into the side of the pyramid. The pyramid shape was key to this. It’s flat sides meant that it was perfectly aligned with a ley line. It was sitting right in the middle of the line. The point on the top was acting as a focal point for the celestial energies coming in from the top. The pyramid was therefore a balance of earthly and celestial forms of energy which were being directed into the stone structure. But why?

Oak Healing and Ley Lines – Solstice 4

In the fourth part of my Winter Solstice outing I provide an example of what can happen if you let yourself be intuitively guided when you are out and about. Fixed agendas are all very well, but when following an energetic spiritual path then fixing events can be counter-productive (to say the least).

We were hungry. We had been up since early morning, travelling to Yorkshire, and then moving around the Ripon area for several hours seeking adventure. I wondered whether the National Trust property of Fountains Abbey might have not only a cool holy well to visit, but also a good cafeteria where we could get some warming food. Turns out they have both, but we only got to sample the food. When I thought about the size of the estate and the amount of daylight we had left – it wasn’t feasible to traipse around Fountains Abbey estate in search of its treasures. That will have to wait until the summer.

We were about to leave, heading back to the car park after a hearty lunch, when we saw a wooden sign pointing to something called “St Mary’s Church“. Hmmm… we had visited a Michael church that morning – maybe we should balance it out by visiting a Mary church? Game on! We walked through the puddles and mud to get to the site – a good ten minute walk.

St Marys Church, Fountains Abbey - Solstice 2014 (3)
St Marys Church, Fountains Abbey

The first thing that strikes you about the church is that is near to a sandstone obelisk which is aligned with its front entrance. For energy workers and seekers such as ourselves this was too much to be ignored – was it a ley line alignment that was being signified here? Was the energy of the ley being concentrated and directed through the church?

I took a bearing in order to check the alignment on a map later….

Thornborough and Arthur – Solstice 1

Posted on December 29, 2014December 28, 2014 By Chris 1 Comment on Thornborough and Arthur – Solstice 1
Thornborough and Arthur – Solstice 1
Hedge Druidry

This is the first in a short series of tales about my journey into the darkest depths of Yorkshire for the Winter Solstice this year. It was only one day’s outing, yet it managed to encompass a number of new sacred sites and to throw up a number of amazing synchronicities between the work that I did and what Kal was experiencing at the same time. I’ll tell my side of the story, and then you can compare these to Kal’s tales. I think you’ll be amazed too!

A Lesson In Patience

The journey was unspectacular except for one incident. I had arranged to meet Kal at 8:30am and despite the fact that he wouldn’t mind if I was one or two minutes late I was rushing to get there on time. Some people were driving very slowly that morning, possibly having nowhere in particular to get to for any specific time. This was rather frustrating me, and so I was getting increasingly flustered. Then, just as I was about to overtake someone ahead of me I looked up at a tall telegraph pole, and atop it was a hawk – just sitting still, and being patient. I saw the message straight away and my foot moved off the accelerator. I would get there when I got there. Phew – and relax….

Then I realised that only two minutes earlier I had been wondering whether I would see a hawk today as a sign, because I so often see them whenever I am journeying on a sacred calendar day. Well, there he was!

Thornborough By The Thorny Route

Finding Thornborough Henge should have been easy. I mean – you can hardly miss a henge in such a flat landscape! Yet it took Kal and I several attempts before we were on the correct small country road, and we had gone off track and gone through a lovely village called Kirklington before we spotted the structure in a field just beyond the village of Thornborough itself, heading towards West Tanfield. There was enough space to park outside a utility building, and soon we were walking through the impressive Thornborough Cursus – a long wide embanked structure which ended in a dog-leg right turn. What on earth was this structure for, we wondered? Soon we would find at least one purpose! I’ll come back to Kirklington later because the church in the village seemed to call to us.

Thornborough Henge - Winter Solstice 2014 (3)

For a short while we were the only ones inside the henge. The diameter of the embankment is quite impressive. It has an Avebury scale feel about it – far larger than Arbor Low, which is what we are more used to. Despite the cold dull day I felt warm and excited – something special was about to happen!

Arbor Low – From Heart To Mouth

Posted on May 10, 2014April 23, 2014 By Gwas 1 Comment on Arbor Low – From Heart To Mouth
Ancient Sites, Elemental, Elemental Angels, Energy grid, Energy work, God or Goddess, Remote Viewing, Spirit Guides, Telluric, Wheel of Albion

At the latter end of last year (2013) I mentioned to my dear friend Mike that I had been given a task which, should I choose to accept it, would constitute what is commonly termed a “Great Work“. I know that this is a loaded term, and anyone who has studied the path of  The Western Mystery Tradition will recognise that this term is often used by the Masonic groups to describe their overall work for the betterment of humanity. It is certainly a double-edged sword of a term, because of course it depends on who the benefactors of this Great Work might be to determine the integrity and morality. I will not be using it in the traditional context, but rather in terms of what it quite literally is – a large amount of energy work!

The target for this Great Work is the ‘great’ stone circle of Arbor Low. I have often described this site as being like the spokes of a great wheel due to the number of radial energy leys which emanate from it and which then travel across the length and breadth of these islands. My name for it is The Wheel of Albion and one day I will fully document all the sites along these leys which I believe are linked to its energy profile. I have already made a start with this, and in fact it is the most often viewed post on this site!

Today, my motivation was to begin to do some energy cleaning along some of the damaged and disrupted leys. Before I tell that tale, I have some fresh information on The Wheel of Albion and its terminus points.

The Heartbeat of Sherwood

Posted on July 24, 2012July 27, 2012 By Gwas No Comments on The Heartbeat of Sherwood
Ancient Sites

Often I need to squeeze an evening out of nowhere in order to get my spiritual path moving a little. I had been stagnating for a while, burdened by “life” getting in the way of what I wanted to do. It happens sometimes. So, I made some time and invited Kal to come with me on a ridiculous quest to Sherwood Forest in the early evening. This evening I would feel the heartbeat of the forest, discover a hidden sacred site, and have a vision that would leave me wondering what I had got involved in! Here’s the first half of that tale.

Unlike my previous visit to the forest I had a particular reason for being here tonight. Last time I had met the Spirit of Place which we all know as the legendary Robin, a title later to be assumed or subsumed into a figure who some believe may have real historical roots – it’s a long debate for another time. On this occasion I was in search of the place known as Thynghowe, an ancient artificial mound that I consider to me my spiritual centre in the land on this side of the Irish Sea. Of course, as I explained in my previous post about finding the centre – it’s not a case of finding the physical exact centre based upon geography. It’s a spiritual place, and I was here to find out what that meant for me.

You may remember that my reason for locating this centre was a vision I had that I called “the dragon at the solstice centre”? Well, I was late for the solstice part of that, but I was in the right place regarding the dragon element. “Thing” places are the mounds of ancient law-giving, renowned as meeting places and moot hills, and central to the lands in which they are situated. They also usually have a tale of dragons fighting associated with them. I understood that to mean a site where male and female energies interacted in an interesting way – sometimes in conflict, sometimes in harmony.

Information board about Sherwood Forest

As we arrived I could already see that it was more resplendent in Summer than it had been in Winter. Obvious, really, but would it feel good too? It was  a wet day everywhere, especially through Derbyshire, and the sky was grey and the air filled with drizzle. We got kitted out for the occasion. It was New Moon, and only days before Ramadan. New Moon generally means a time of difficult energy working for me, given that I am a moon-oriented energy person. So it would turn out to be.

Egypt – The Black Altar at Karnak Temple

Posted on May 22, 2012May 22, 2012 By Gwas 1 Comment on Egypt – The Black Altar at Karnak Temple
Ancient Sites, Dowsing

Karnak Temple

Karnak temple is only a few miles outside of Luxor. The temple is connected to Luxor temple via a row of hundreds of carved sphinxes – nothing like the size of the famous Giza sphinx, but with each one being at least man-sized or slightly larger that makes for one hell of an impressive sight when you see them lined up in a vast avenue. There is a dowsable energy ley line linking the two temples of Karnak and Luxor along which the sphinxes are placed.

Talking of impressive, the Karnak temple complex covers a vast area in itself. With several generations of pharaoh adding their own impressive extensions to the original temple there ended up being six distinct “pylons” or gates before an invasion of Persians then Romans put a stop to the proceedings. In addition to the huge main area dedicated to Amun-Re (the Precinct of Amun-Re), there are smaller satellite temples dedicated to the female deity Mut, and their son Montu. This makes the place sound quite simple – in fact it is incredibly complex having been presided over the at least thirty pharaohs.

The Aura of the Scarab Statue

The final touch is the inclusion of a sacred lake, and a scarab beetle statue which has a myth attached to it concerning it being a wishing status. The idea is to walk around the statue seven times in an anti-clockwise direction and your wish will come true.

I started the dowsing in the middle of a crowd of tourists at the scarab beetle statue. M wanted to walk around the scarab, so I let her. She was the only one doing this at first, but within two circles she was being joined by others who were copying the idea. By the fourth time around she had about 20 people circling around with her! I began to dowse when she started the perambulation. Was she generating any energy doing this, I wondered. She was, it seemed. I took a reading of the aura of the statue at that point. It was about ten feet wide.

As she continued to circle and more people joined her I could feel the aura expanding. I kept taking readings all the way through her walk. The aura seemed to be expanding faster than I could take dowsing readings! The more people that joined in, the faster the aura expended. Soon I had to stop at the lake that was 20 feet away because the aura was heading out into the water! She came back to join me. I didn’t ask what she’d wished for. It was for her to find out if such ideas came true.
