The outings that I particularly look forward to are my megalithic tour days. This started last year with the trip to Anglesey, and this year I selected a date in October and invited people who are in my Spirit In Nature Meetup group to come along. I got ten people along for the day. There was … Read More “Derbyshire Megalithic Tour 2016” »

M and I were returning from Brittany. We had been spending a lovely sun-soaked week with my aunt and uncle parked up at their home near St Malo. My father was also there – which was a rare family get together – and I embraced the week as just that. No mystical work – just … Read More “Stonehenge – where the druids live” »

Lammas 2015 P8 The Pink Knight and the Black Chamber

Kilmartin Museum was excellent. Lots to see and very interesting for us as well, which is not often the case. I particularly like their outdoor exhibit demonstrating the alignment of the nearby megaliths with the sun’s position. A quirky little pedestal which I’m sure many will have overlooked.

We decided we had enough time to visit the church too, although I’m not sure what to make of my findings! Alongside the church building was a smaller stone building housing an array of carved stones ranging from 1100 to 1717 in date. The third earliest stone (cracked) dowsed as being energetically worthwhile me investigating. So I did.

I held my hand on the stone and soon I was in meditative mind. As my thoughts withdrew a picture began to form. I saw a knight in armour with a broadsword cleaving his enemies. His status was obvious. He was a nobleman, possibly a tribal leader of this area. Then came a series of much gentler images of walks, flowers and then… being with other men!
I asked what we had in common – cautiously. I introduced myself as a druid. This was our link, apparently. He was interested in the Unknown, in the Western Mysteries. He showed me how he had to send others in his retinue to talk to the Druids in his day due to his status. He couldn’t be seen in such company.
With that.. the energy link faded. Either I was “out of fuel” or there wasn’t enough around in this place. We decided that was enough for today and that we needed to head home now. I can’t tell you how much Kal laughed when I told him this tale. I think he stopped giggling at some point past Penrith.

Luck and the Subtle Energy Field

Posted on March 11, 2014March 2, 2014 By Gwas 3 Comments on Luck and the Subtle Energy Field
Energy grid, Hedge philosophy, How To, Theory

If you only knew how many theoretical posts we had in the background, waiting for a quiet day…. but most of them never see the spotlight of this blog site. It’s not what we’re about, really – telling you how to do stuff. We’re more about showing you the possibilities through our experiences. Yet, occasionally, a theory post slips through the net, because we do have ideas. Lots of them. So, here’s one about the subject of luck.

Many people regard me as being “lucky”. I seem to sail through life unhindered by the many afflictions and wrangles which most people seem to have in their lives. I certainly regard myself as having a “charmed life”, especially when it comes to dangerous situations.  Luck is one of those concepts like “coincidence”. It is a component of a magickal life. Without luck one is resigned to a life of struggle, strife and repression. With luck comes freedom, inhibition and risk-taking. We can begin to see why luck is a much-valued and much sought-after commodity.

We need to differentiate luck as a commodity, or a by-product of a lifestyle versus perceived luck as a product of intervention. Some people say that we are being “watched over” – maybe we have a guardian angel? Such an entity offers us the chance of intervention when events might turn away from our “natural”course in life. I understand that concept, and in some situations I think that could be a viable interpretation for how we escape some potential accidents.

There is also the luck that people perceive to be involved in windfalls, or the sudden accumulation of wealth and power. Largely, this is a product of placing oneself in the right place at the right time through hard work; or of becoming involved in the chance, no matter how small, of winning something. For example, I might be lucky, but if I never enter the lottery then I’ll never win the prize! Knowing what I do about this form of luck I can say that if it is in your spiritual development to win such things then you will, and when the time is right. Otherwise, it’s just chance. Sheer chance. ‘Luck’ doesn’t come into it.

“Carl Jung viewed luck as synchronicity, which he described as ‘a meaningful coincidence’.” (source: Wikipedia)

I also think there is a more general condition which we would call “luck”. This is the luck which allows one to easily move through life without being affected by restrictions and unwanted human interventions. Often “luck” as a concept is all bundled together as one idea, as though there is only one form of luck. I don’t believe this is so. I think luck comes in different forms, and I know that it is possible to work with at least one form in order to promote a smoother transit through life. Let’s examine this type of luck in more detail.

Calming The Storm

Posted on February 7, 2014 By Gwas 10 Comments on Calming The Storm
Experiment, Hedge Druidry, Natural Magick, Ritual, Spirit Guides

I had become quite discontented and disturbed at the misery of the folks who had been inundated by sea and rain water in the beloved country of Cornwall. One lady in particular made me simultaneously laugh and cry when she said:

“I’m packing up what’s left of my stuff, and now I’m having to move out….It’s not my fault!”

That really made me think. “It’s not my fault”…It was a strange thing to say, but quite reflective of a “blame culture” which is infecting these islands. Yet, I understood what she meant at heart – why was this terrible tragedy happening to such an extent, to nice people, and to a lovely county? It was the British sense of “fairness” coming into play. It was all so unfair. I was prodded into action.

I had been to Cornwall recently – just before the storms started. Many of the places mentioned as being devastated were places that I had been to or through. Having had experience of weather control as a druid skill I wondered whether it would be right for me to try to intervene. Only the dowsing rods could answer this for me, in conjunction with my spirit guide Ash.

2014 – South-Western counties take a battering

Having recently changed my study room I no longer knew where my power centre was. Turns out it has moved from one side to the very centre of the room, which makes it easier to work now. I stood in the power centre and dowsed some questions about the storms:-

  1. Were the storms necessary to re-balance the climate in these lands? NO.
  2. Was an imbalance of water being created by the storms? YES.
  3. Was it appropriate for my to call for a cessation to the storms? YES.
  4. Did I have enough personal power? YES.
  5. Was it the right time of the full moon cycle to do this work? YES, it is First Quarter – the beginning of the power cycle.
  6. Would there be any negative impact on the land or its inhabitants if I called a halt to the storms? NO.
  7. Could I do this work even though I had released my elemental associates? YES – their powers are now a part of you.

I felt that with this series of questions I had the green light to at least give it a go! I asked how ling it would take to take effect if I did the work – the answer was three days. Today was Thursday 6th February. The storms would cease by Sunday 9th. That was my hope, my belief, my faith. With that news, that feeling, I knew I had to try something.

The Untreatable Dog

Posted on December 1, 2013November 27, 2013 By Gwas 14 Comments on The Untreatable Dog
Experiment, Healing, Hedge Druidry, Remote Viewing

Sometimes we come across the odd miracle or two. Sometimes the miracle can be explained if one is aware of the nature of subtle energy and the way that natural magick works (see the post The Nine Doctrines of Natural Magick). I came across such a miracle recently, and I decided to do a bit more investigation into what the actual constituent parts were that contributed to the result.

The miracle involved a very distraught dog owner. This lady, oddly enough, has the eyes of a cat – very striking – yet she is a dog owner who loves her pet very much. We had known each other on a regular but casual basis for several months, and we had begun to chat in that time, albeit very briefly. She called me to one side one day, enquiring in hushed tones whether I wanted to hear something “really weird”. Did I? Weird is what I do, lady! She didn’t know that – yet – she thought I was normal.

She explained her sad tale. How her dog had become ill with something which several vets in succession had been unable to diagnose and treat. The lady had spent £2000 on treatments and visits up to this point and the dog was only getting worse with the original illness, and now the side effects of the treatments.  In desperation a lady went to the local homoeopath in the town where I work. And this, the lady explained, was the weird bit. The homoeopath had hung a crystal from a chain and swung it around over some bottles. You’ll never guess what – it actually moved towards certain bottles when she asked it questions! The look on the lady’s face was inviting me to be similarly surprised by this magical action. I smiled. “I know, ” I said, “I do that too. It’s called dowsing.” If possible her eyebrows moved further towards the back of her head. My veneer of normality had one layer scraped away.

As she continued to explain how the homoeopath had selected the cure and then dowsed for the frequency of application I began to wonder if this was something that I should begin to take more of an interest in? Anyway, the cure was as yet unproven. The lady finished her tale and then said, “What do you think of that? Do you think it will work?” I said that I was sure it would, but that more important than what I thought, she had to believe it would work too. I stressed how important that was, and then left her with that, saying I would check back with her regularly.

sick-dog

At home I couldn’t shake off the idea that I could help here. I grabbed my dowsing rods and asked them if I could contribute without detrimental effect. They confirmed that I could. I stood in my power centre at home, grounding then connecting to the subtle energy forces. Then I pictured the lady, and through her, connected to her dog. I could ‘see’ the overall condition was not good – the illness was affecting the whole of the dog’s aura which looked like a sickly pale green colour – a kind of insipid lime colour, like pale phlegm. I gathered up a whole load of subtle energy from my staff, from the dog’s surroundings and then from myself, and I pushed the whole collection of energies down through the energetic bridge, using my heart chakra and a loving emotion to be the motivation for the movement. I held the stream open for about ten seconds and when i felt the energy was being received I discontinued the connection, grounding, disconnecting, and clearing myself back to a neutral state.

During the next week i asked how things were going.
