Oh blimey! We’re so far behind with our posts. Here’s one from the early part of June that I’ve just got around to. It’s the second part of the story of our Wales visit during the Venus Transit early in the month. I think I put “Mid June” at the start of the last post, but actually it was early June. Wishful thinking! I’m determined not to fall further than a month behind with these posts. We’ve got so much to tell you still! Onwards!

In this post I will tell you about some dowsed history of Dinas Emrys, and then another experiment we did with sound and chakra points. The scene starts with curtain up on a wide valley steeped in wisps of flowing mist like the breath 0f a Welsh green dragon filling the world with its presence.

Breath of the Dragon

As we turned the corner and passed over the crest of the A498 heading towards Beddgelert were were greeted by a sight that literally made us gasp in astonishment and wonder. The sweeping panorama of the lake and valley of Nantgwynant is stunning on any day of the year, but today there were wisps of cloud hanging on to the sides of the mountains that made the whole scene magical. Snowdon had never looked more mysterious, and broad smiles were pasted to our faces for the rest of the journey into the valley below.

Parking in one fo the handy lay-bys at the side of the road we got our wet-weather gear ready, despite the humidity. It was definitely going to rain. It had been raining all morning everywhere around us on the journey in. All surfaces were wet and slippery. I put my sturdy boots on. Kal went in trainers. He surely had to expect wet feet again?

We climbed over the iron gate, got to the path, and climbed up past the static caravans up the less steep side of the hill to the first plateau. Once reached I reminded Kal that this was the place where the mythological red and white dragons had their battle as Merlin and King Vortigern watched. Kal ignored this wonderful piece of information and reminded me that his vertigo had gone. I’m sure he misheard me!

Venus Transit and The Hawk Lines

It’s June. We have to go out. We can’t help ourselves. So, even though the weather was looking ropey, we went out. Kal and I winged our merry way along the A55 westward towards Anglesey, the sacred druidic isle. My objective was simple – I had been instructed to learn the skill of “seeing like a hawk”, which meant to see the silver tracks where subtle energy flows. Others in the world of dowsing have recognised this silvery glow too – I am not the first by any means.

What is “seeing like a hawk”?

Seeing like a hawk essentially means getting an aerial or high view on the landscape and then being able to adjust your vision until you can see the silver paths that cross the land. Sometimes these paths are animal tracks, and this is why birds of prey go looking for them – they find the tracks and where they converge they will have found the homes of their prey. This increases the likelihood of finding prey out in the open – either at source, or on their usual passage ways.

For me, I learned that seeing like a hawk meant to adjust my vision from a vantage point such that I could see the silvery tracks of subtle energy as they flow through the landscape. Lush dark green grass is a good starting point for beginning to see such traces as it provides good contrast to the vague silver appearance of subtle energy. I hope, with practice, to move on to seeing subtle energy in other conditions, but for now dark green grass is a good starting point to test out the theory. So, where to find a high point, preferably a power centre, that also is overlooking lush grass?

The Perfect Vantage Point

It was a last minute decision on our part but we decided to head to Anglesey. The old favourite Bryn Celli Ddu would be the perfect combination of easily-accessible site, dry inside if it rained, surrounded by grassy fields, and the mound would act as a perfect vantage point. As we set off I realised that I had forgotten my staff. Turning around to go back home I saw a hawk on top of a telegraph pole watching me with its beady eyes as I passed. Seemed like an omen that was too perfect to ignore. Bryn Celli Ddu it was then.

We arrived in Anglesey and drove the now familiar route westward along the southern coast until we reached the tiny habitation of Llanddaniel. We parked near to the bridge over the stream and walked to the monument with a joyful air, happy to be out and about after what felt like too long away from such journeys. On arrival, despite seeing other cars parked, we found we had the place to ourselves. Always a bonus if you’re going to be doing some spiritual meditative work.

The Venus Transit

Using my intuition I began to walk up onto the mound via a ritual path. Not no dowsing rods required on this day – the day of the Venus Transit. I checked my StarWalk app – yep – there was Venus, right in front of the Sun. Was this having any effect today? I stood in a power centre and dowsed the results.

  1. Was the Venus Transit changing the energy field of this site today? NO.
  2. Were the energies of Venus or the Sun affecting the site today? YES. Which? BOTH.

So, although the passing of Venus across the Sun was having no special energetic effects, the presence of Venus and The Sun in the visible skyline was adding the energies of these bodies to the available energies of the site. Nice. The place certainly felt good. Both Kal and I were smiling and bouncing around like kids. It was incredibly pleasant to be there on this day.

The Hawk Lines Experiment

Now for the crux of the visit – to test whether I could activate or acquire the skills of seeing lines of subtle energy – the “hawk lines” as I was calling them as part of this quest.

After my Ireland Ancestor Quest I had one obvious question: “Now that I have recovered them and successfully fought to keep them – what can I do with them?”

Some tarot card readers say that they can’t do reading for themselves very well. I seem to be able to. In fact, my own readings are so spectacularly accurate that they really spook me out every time I draw the cards. So, when I did a tarot spread to try to discover the answers to this question I should have been ready for the unerringly accurate and uncanny cards that were drawn from the repeatedly shuffled and cut deck.

This tarot spread was the most unbelievably accurate and useful draw I have ever done. Of course it was using the wonderful Wildwood Tarot, a superb deck for druids. For me, it proves beyond any reasonable doubt that tarot is a means of interfacing with some form of intelligence that operates outside of perceived time, and with whose grace it is possible to obtain incredible occult knowledge of the past, the present and the future.

Before we examine the cards that answer this question, we must first re-visit the tarot card layout that I drew just before I went to Ireland to begin the quest. You will see how important this initial reading was, and how it correlates so much with the subsequent reading.

IRELAND ANCESTOR QUEST READING

I asked for two cards to show which energies I was taking in to the quest, and three to show what would happen during the quest

  • Two energies in – Page of Bows (Stoat) + King of Vessels (Heron)
  • Three events that would occur – Queen of Vessels (Salmon) + Knight of Vessels (Eel) + The Shaman
My interpretation of these cards:
GENERAL
Firstly, note the occurrence of Vessel cards indicating a lot of emotion in the draw. There was a lot of emotional content to the cards – they meant   something precious to me, and their consequences would have a profound effect on my emotional state. So it proved to be. Note that they are both “court” cards too. These are indicators that the energies are related to my own self, but they also express a royal theme. How prescient this turned out to be as I was visiting the sites where Kings and Queens were ritually crowned and where they had their seats of power.  The Bows card is showing a high level of motivation, intention, and will.
ENERGIES GOING INTO THE QUEST
  • The Stoat is showing me, depicted as having a hunger for knowledge, yet changing colour to match the seasons – adaptable yet driven.
  • The Heron is me again, but a different side of me – a solitary figure, said to be gifted with psychic abilities and the ability of reflection – my meditative spiritual self. Also linked with diplomacy and a broad perspective.
ENERGIES EMERGING FROM THE QUEST
  • The Salmon – the fish of wisdom that heads back to the place of its birth in the face of all adversity, driven to find its spawning grounds. Seeking wisdom from a birthplace?
  • The Eel – of course, this was the Eel Sword, the vessel that held the noble ancestor energies themselves, and which I had to find on the shores of the lake of the druid Ce.
  • The Shaman – the culmination of my successful quest to retrieve and retain the energies sees me acquiring some of the properties of the shaman or tribal magician.

If you have read the series of posts on my Irish Ancestor Quest then you will know how accurate those cards were. Now it was time to see what I could do with the energies that I had ‘downloaded’ from my spiritual journey could be used for, and how I could access them. As well as being a practical lesson these cards were outright confirmation that divination is a powerful tool for the spiritual seeker.
