Dreaming of the past

Dreams, Visions

For someone who doesn’t believe in spirits or at least has a “not sure” attitude to them, I seem to be communing with those that have departed quite frequently. I know, it’s a bit oxymoron(ic) but there you have it. The erstwhile spirit I refer to is my mum, who passed away some 6 years ago. I confess though I do have a desire to commune with her because I am currently engaged in a quest to – how can I put it – connect with an ancestral line? I think it is more complicated than that. Isn’t it always? Anyway, I am delving deep into a heritage that has been passed on verbally only so no hunting in written records for me.

The best I have got so far is that my ancestral line were nomadic in nature, over the period of 1700 to 900 they traversed the plains of Ancient Persia. Which in essence meant anything from Turkey to the borders of India. My interest was in the time of around 1100 AD. You might wonder as to why this date in particular. Well, something interesting happened during this time.

Alas, the discovery of this something on my part isn’t recorded because it is before the inception of this recorded writings. In time, I will try to reconstruct that event. But for now, that is the time I am interested in. What the heck was my ancestral line doing at that time? A question to ask…my ancestors.

I was visiting my mums grave and wasn’t expecting any kind of commune. It’s just a nice reminder in my opinion. I have checked the place (graveyard) out on many occasions and it is clear of any shades or remnant energy.

The sun was beating down on this fine summers evening and I lay down on the grass (at my mums feet) and fell asleep straight away. Thus began a tour of the past and the Persian empire. It began today, in Pakistan. But time flew past quite rapidly and some 250 years in the past my ancestral line moved to (or away, depends on your temporal point of view) from the region towards the West.

By the 1400’s they were in the region of Baghdad and they remained in that area for another 200 years. Then another move westward occurred and by 1200’s they were in the region of Turkey. In the 1200 to 1000 time period they must have moved a lot because on my dream journey I saw that they were in both Baghdad and Istanbul and the places in between.

Building the picture slowly but surely.
