We do spend an awful amount of time in the woe is me corner don’t we? Another term that we might use is self-pity. Of course this isn’t just reflected at ourselves we are often in a place of pitying others too. You might be wondering what this has to do with the topics in … Read More “Ice Dragon and the Place of No Pity” »

I get house dowsing cases from a variety of sources. A friend of a friend is one of the most common. Thus after only a week ago that I was talking with a friend about another house dowsing experience she told me that a friend of hers could do with such a service. A week … Read More “The Energy of Prayer 1 of 3” »

Solar Eclipse on the Eve of Spring 2015

Celestial, Other reports, Quickie

Just a quickie. I am writing this quite literally whilst the solar eclipse is happening. Of course you’re thinking, “why aren’t you out at some sacred place?” to which my response is…my rooms are a sacred place. Before the eclipse I had pre-asked the rods whether I could gain full advantage of it whilst at … Read More “Solar Eclipse on the Eve of Spring 2015” »

Northumberlandia and Newness

Northumberlandia – Cramlington, Northumberland

Since the land sculpture was finally revealed in 2012 I have had Northumberlandia close to the top of my wish list of places to visit. I was excited at the prospect of a truly modern act of regeneration which had a clear dedication to the Goddess in the land – The Lady of the North. This sculpture seemed to hold the promise of a modern sacred space which would be rampant in beautiful subtle energies.

Could it be true? Could a modern artist – Charlie Jencks – have created such a sacred energetic space out of the ruins of industrialisation? This regeneration project seemed hopeful and I was dying to find out. Luckily, on a holiday to Scotland recently I got the chance to find out for myself.

“His many landforms are based on the idea that landforming is a radical hybrid activity combining gardens, landscape, urbanism, architecture, sculpture, and epigraphy. Thus the landforms often include enigmatic writing and complex symbolism. Landforms provoke the visitor to interpret landscape on the largest and smallest scale.

Jencks has become a leading figure in British landscape architecture. His landscape work is inspired by fractals, genetics, chaos theory, waves and solitons” (source: Wikipedia)

Remote Dowsing, Energy Spots and Manchester Art Gallery

I am not much of an art fan. Certainly not the lines and squares type of art. I can appreciate a good country or city scene. But it doesn’t touch it as it does true fans. Maybe it is because, as a kid, when ever I tried my hand at painting, I always ended up … Read More “Remote Dowsing, Energy Spots and Manchester Art Gallery” »

Bodnant in Autumn

Posted on November 19, 2012 By Gwas No Comments on Bodnant in Autumn
Other reports, Trees

Having joined The National Trust this year I was happy to see that their suggestions for the top five places to see autumn colour included a relatively local place – Bodnant Garden near Conwy in North Wales. I say local – I mean less than an hour’s drive away.  M and I chose a day to … Read More “Bodnant in Autumn” »

A Chance to Praise

Posted on September 5, 2012September 5, 2012 By Gwas 1 Comment on A Chance to Praise
Other reports

The evening was warm and dry, the chance to go out was tugging at me like a young puppy. I decided to go out after work to “somewhere in the North of Manchester” – that was as far as my plan went. Using the Megalithic Portal on my phone I found a list of sites … Read More “A Chance to Praise” »
