The Wye Connection

The Wye Connection
Ancient Sites, Caves and Shelters, Dolmens and Chambers, Faery, Incense, Lakes and Rivers, Merlin, Power Objects, Quests, Signs and Synchronicity

I cannot now tell you what prompted me to choose this destination. I think I was looking for a dolmen that I had not been to before, and which was within 2 hours drive of home. I think I narrowed the search down to the county of Powys in Wales, but as this is a … Read More “The Wye Connection “ »

Unexpected angels

Unexpected angels
Angels, Chakras, Energy cleansing, Energy healing

I don’t work with angels much. For several reasons. The main reason is respect. I respect the power and majesty of these energy forms so much, that my limited experience of them leads me to limit my interactions with them to moments of necessity. However, I don’t mind when the tables are turned and an … Read More “Unexpected angels” »

Summer Solstice 2016 – Brimham Rocks

Summer Solstice 2016 – Brimham Rocks
Circles and Stones, Energy work, Protection, Quests, Wheel of the Year

It’s as close as I wanted to get to the Summer Solstice. You know that I’m not a fan of the peak of the male energy spectrum, yet it must be recognised. So, I have made arrangements with the wonderful meditator John David Kirby and the delightfully deep Deborah Delglyn, Shaman Priestess of South Manchester. … Read More “Summer Solstice 2016 – Brimham Rocks” »

Gop Hill bares all – Part 2

Gop Hill bares all – Part 2
Ancient Sites, Hills and Mounds, Land healing, Spirit of Place

In the second part of the story of my visit to Gop Hill with the shaman Debra I will reveal a powerful change to the energies of the place, and how we dealt with that information. The sky was unashamedly grey, as though pigeons were gathering in dense flocks. I surveyed the sky for any … Read More “Gop Hill bares all – Part 2” »

Gop Hill bares all – Part 1
Ancient Sites, Hills and Mounds

In what is an uncommon privilege I got to work with one of the most eminent examples of what I would call a “wise woman” this week. Debra Delglyn is a well-travelled and widely-experienced practitioner of shamanic arts of all sorts. When we work together I come away wishing I had the time and dedication … Read More “Gop Hill bares all – Part 1” »

Healing The Past Self

Posted on November 18, 2015November 16, 2015 By Chris 1 Comment on Healing The Past Self
Healing The Past Self
Ancestors, Healing

I don’t often put myself into the hands of someone else to do healing, as I usually think that I can do most of it myself. However, occasionally someone else can spot something that you are either missing, or deliberately avoiding. When I went to see a fellow shaman, the wonderful Debra Delglyn, then what began as a chat and a quick massage of sore legs turned into a proper therapy session!

Debra Delgyln – shaman, masseuse and magician

After doing Hellrunner again this year I had sore legs. I hadn’t actually anticipated a massage but when I got there I cheekily asked if I could have one, and Debra obliged thankfully.

Debra seems to use massage as an entry point for a greater healing experience. As my muscles relaxed she was sensing something wasn’t right through her bio-feedback mechanisms and her powerful intuition. Soon she was asking me to search for any painful place, then describe it.

I did a body scan and found myself saying that the back part of my brain was registering as a royal blue colour. That wasn’t anywhere near enough – she wanted more analysis!

What is this colour?

I went into the area to explore. It is regulation, stricture, the proper way to do things, limitation through cultural conditioning, “what you should do”.

With her healing hands Debra shifts and eases the pain. Then I am told to follow its flow. Describe it. Where is it now?

It is now in my diaphragm. It is restricting my breathing. It is a blue cloth, tightly woven, like a captain’s uniform. She helps me to explore it. Now I can see that it is woven of criss-crossing threads which I can loosen, unpick, and relax.

I think I am finished but she moves even further onwards. Where is the pain now? I can feel the tension in my kidneys. She informs me that the kidneys are the point where the chi flow comes into the body, and is associated with the ancestors. I must explore this.

I relax and go inside again. Moment later I am back at Tara this Summer Solstice….

Fun and a Funnel at The Bridestones

Posted on December 1, 2014 By Chris No Comments on Fun and a Funnel at The Bridestones
Fun and a Funnel at The Bridestones
Ancient Sites, Energy cleansing, Energy work, God or Goddess, Hedge Druidry, Protection, Spirit of Place

I have a strange mix of friends. Some people I would never consider introducing to others – they’re friends with widely differing tastes and interests. Every now and again I think two sets of friends would integrate well and I take a chance on introducing them to each other. So it was that Debra Delglyn had invited me to visit The Bridestones, and I saw the opportunity of introducing her to my friends Mike and Janet.

It took the pairing scarcely two minutes to become fully conversant and soon they were riffing off each other, laughing and sharing stories. Lovely! It worked. And so we ventured out together to the stones with me having not one worry about how they would operate at the site. It would be something special, and so it turned out to be.

A Gentle Introduction to Yew

The first feature of the site that I wanted to show Debra was the yew trees which stand at the entrance like a portal or doorway. Guardians of the experience within, they needed to be approached and respected with care. For those who bother to do this their experiences inside the Bridestones space is always more rewarding. Today was no exception.

Inside the space we settled and ‘browsed’ for the feel of the site. It felt good, but there was something amiss which needed addressing. Debra moved inside the chamber whilst the Mike and Janet set about working at the far end of the chamber on the outside. When they checked back with me I confirmed that this had been a point where there is often some kind of “seepage” of less wholesome energies, and so it was no surprise that they found a spot that they felt needed to be worked on to restore balance.

Bridestones - Nov 14 (1) (Medium)

I was ensuring that I was connecting to the Spirit of Place and getting in tune with the site before I began to do any work. This took time as I moved slowly between points of cleansing, re-energising and then harmonizing. Finally I was ready to work myself.
