Unexpected angels

I don’t work with angels much. For several reasons. The main reason is respect. I respect the power and majesty of these energy forms so much, that my limited experience of them leads me to limit my interactions with them to moments of necessity. However, I don’t mind when the tables are turned and an … Read More “Unexpected angels” »

Creating a Healer at Avebury

After Belas Knap in Gloucestershire where would a journeying Hedge Druid and Edge Wizard go next? Why, to Avebury, of course. Er….right. Because it’s an hour and half in the wrong direction! Nevertheless, somehow Kal persuaded me that there was time and a good enough reason. I don’t know what it was, but it seemed good at the time.

Actually, what started as a good excuse to go to the Avebury village bookshop turned out to be a very revealing and educational affair. I learned a lot about the notion and initiation of becoming a healer, and now I know exactly what I will be trying to do on my next visit. Let me explain how Avebury stone circle can be used to initiate an energetic healer!

Avebury - May 15 (3)

98, 36, and 12

I dowsed my way around the circle beginning at the bookshop. Having a bag of books in one hand I was reliant on one-handed dowsing, which required a little “re-programming” to understand the responses. My starting directive was “Take me to somewhere where I can learn something that will help me develop.” You never know what you’ll get with such an open question! I suppose I could have asked “What is the sound of one hand dowsing?”

Source: Hyperstition web site

There may originally have been 98 stones in the outer ring around the smaller inner circles. Many missing stones have now been marked with concrete posts, but some go unmarked. Using the rods I moved around the outer circle, from stone to stone, often missing stones out or by-passing places where stones may have been. Where the rods indicated I should stop, I did so, and meditated on that spot. What I found was that I began to get visions, or rather one vision which became ever-more complex and overlaid with more information as I moved from stone to stone.

What was revealed to me was a geometrical construction of energy which described a method of initiating a person to become a subtle energy healer.

Spring 2015-P4 – Dark Shadows at Dale

The next stop on our Easterly journey was to another place that we had visited only once before – Dale Hermitage. The hermitage is a rock-cut chamber scoured from the sandstone above the village of Dale Abbey. The abbey of the village name if a scant ruin now, and the hermitage is much more energetically interesting.

As we walked through the wood the chill wind reminded us that last time we had visited it was Beltane and much warmer than today. We walked swiftly seeking out the sanctuary of the hermit’s shelter, yet I had time to stop at some new rabbit holes in order to pick up three small white quartz pebbles that caught my attention. We are just rock-shifters, after all.

The Hermitage feels too nice to have Underworld qualities, despite being down some steep steps. Inside it relatively light and airy. We had lunch, took photos and milled around. It was like we were waiting for something to happen, or afraid to start something! I casually asked Kal why the place was considered sacred. Kal looked at me as though to say “Read The Flaming Manual!” and pointed me to the nearby information sign. Didn’t I have legs? I was just being lazy, so I went to read the sign.

It’s a sign, I tell you! A miraculous sign!

The information sign told me that the Hermit of the Hermitage was guided by the appearance of Virgin Mary. Given what I had been reading recently this could just as easily have been Bride/Brigit. That’s a long discussion for another time.

A Meeting of Minds

Posted on October 16, 2014 By Chris 2 Comments on A Meeting of Minds
A Meeting of Minds
Angels, Elemental, Healing, Hedge Druidry, Natural Magick

Due to the nature of the way I work these days I am now coming across people who share my outlook on life. One such person is Debra Delgyn, an holistic therapist and shaman from Manchester. We had met weeks ago at a networking event and almost without having much of a conversation we just knew we would have a lot in common. Bless her, Debra made the effort to get us together for an afternoon, and so I decided to show her some one of the formative places that I had used when beginning my druidic training – Frodsham Hill.

I have no idea why I chose this particular part of the hill – it was a cliff covered in green moss and lichen which shone with an eerie fluorescence against its red sandstone background. I think the site must have drawn my attention too many times as I have passed it. I have worked at many places all around this cliff face, but never spent any time actually at that spot. Yet, here I was with an experienced shaman, and striding with confidence up the hill to reveal its presence. Luckily for me, presence is exactly what we found.

Sandstone cliff near Frodsham

I used my dowsing rods to determine the best spots for us both to sit at. For Debra it was a moss-covered rock, and for me it was beside a small oak tree who corkscrew shape showed me that it was a place of strong subtle energy forces. I wasn’t the only one to notice that, and that pleased me as it confirmed that I was working with someone on my wavelength.

The Net of Light

I watched fascinated as Debra began to unpack some of the paraphernalia from her “crane bag”. I didn’t recognise much of what she laid out – I’m such a novice in these respects.

After we had settled in we talked about the spot. I asked her if she felt the force of the subtle energy flow coming off the cliff. For me it was so palpable that it threatened to push me off the path and roll me down the hillside! She agreed that it could be felt. A good start.

We chatted briefly and she asked me about the view beyond the near trees. I told her that it was the Weaver Estuary, and that it was surrounded by chemical factories. Then I mentioned The Marshes – an area of polluted land which had taken the brunt of the chemical waste from the estuary over the years.

We then talked about the presence of rock (or ‘gnomic’) beings in the rock face behind us, and how we could perhaps interact with these forces, and ask them if they could help us to send out healing into the polluted lands below us. Debra talked of a “Net of Light” which could be used to perform healing of the land. I understood the concept, because of course I have been healing the land for years. Vocabulary aside, we knew what we meant to do, however we would choose to do it.

Recovering the Church of Michael

Posted on July 8, 2014July 8, 2014 By Gwas 1 Comment on Recovering the Church of Michael
Angels, Crystals, Dowsing, Energy cleansing, Energy work, Hedge Druidry

Is it wrong for a druid to be working for an angel? Let’s not even start that discussion! Let’s just say that I took the ‘case’ on and I am working it, like some kind of kindly private detective. This post relates to the direction I was given recently at The Druid’s Circle. There I was directed by Archangel Michael (who I will refer to as Michael) to take note of the direction of a rainbow, and to use that as guidance to find a church that was dedicated to his name. The indications were that something terrible had happened at the church which had changed the energies at that site in a drastic way. Michael had asked if I would take on the task of re-aligning the energies so that they would be compatible with his vibration again. It would be my pleasure!

I find myself in the delightful company of Magic Mike (hereafter ‘Mike’), who tells me coincidentally that this is the moniker that he has been given by his friends who live at the site of his holiday home. I love coincidences like that. We are venturing forth deep into the heartland of the eastern Welsh hills, close to the town of Oswestry and Welshpool. The bearing that I had taken at Druid’s Circle has pointed directly to a church called ‘St. Michael’s‘ in the village of Llanfihangel Yng Nwynfa. The sun is shining and the day is shaping up to be a hot one, and so we come prepared – we’ve brought a picnic! No, seriously, I’m equipped with a special crystal. I have brought the rose quartz crystal that appeared on the path in front of my house recently.

I discuss the apport incident with Mike, and he reveals to me that he was told that an apport always contains a little of the energy used by the spirit that apported it. I had dowsed that morning that the crystal’s appearance was directly linked to Michael, and so now I find myself carrying a crystal with angelic energy in it, and heading to Archangel Michael’s church in order to do his work. Another set of delightful links.

Llanfihangel St Michaels Church - June 14 (12) (Medium)

The Unlucky Horseshoe

At the entrance to the churchyard is a white-painted iron gate leading to a line of yew trees. We open the squeaking gate and Mike immediately senses that this area is full of “bad energy”. He turns to the yew trees and senses that they are bearing the brunt of the pressure of trying to absorb this energy. I accompany his senses with some dowsing and find the same results – the two entrance yews are saturated. Normally yew trees will absorb and ground energies that are associated with the process of death and decay, dispersing them far into the earth below. In this case they are being overwhelmed by the bad energy and it is spilling out beyond the confines of the churchyard.

As if in some intuitive moment I looked upwards above the white gate. Hanging overhead is an iron horseshoe – prongs downwards. We look at each other – that’s the “bad luck” way, right? Indeed it is. Superstitious, but in this instance an indicator which just seemed to re-enforce the feelings and our findings. We vow to resolve the problem once we have looked around the rest of the area. There may be something still more sinister at work here!

Light and Shade at Druids Circle

Posted on July 8, 2014July 8, 2014 By Gwas No Comments on Light and Shade at Druids Circle
Angels, Hedge Druidry

Another beautiful summer day, another opportunity to go out that is impossible to ignore. Kal texted one simple phrase – “Druid’s Circle?” Do they? It wasn’t a question – it was an invitation. I looked at the weather forecast – 60% chance of very heavy rain in that location. Still, I would be with The Sun King, the man who can make the sun appear anywhere he goes. He would be the other 40% of that prediction.

On the way along the A55 towards Conwy the weather is dreadful – rain, thick grey clouds, and an unending dismal scene as far as the eye can see. Somehow, as we get within five miles of Penmaenmawr, the clouds all disappear in that locale, and as we climb up the tiny road to the parking place the sun is shining so hard that we have to smile broadly. Yet again, I have to admit that I was too pessimistic. If I was basing my decisions on the predictions by the weather forecasters I might not go out half as much as I do. Just shows you – just go!

Yet again, I have no purpose to my visit today – deliberately. I’m experimenting with the “old ways” – the way I used to work before I began to believe that I needed a purpose. I think I used to call this “active ignorance”. On way up I ask who I might meet today. I don’t know who I’m asking (myself?) but the idea comes to mind that I will meet a known spirit, but not my spirit guide or Herne, whom I have met previously at The Druid’s Circle.

Penmaenmawr Druids Circle - June 14 (4) (Medium)

The walk up is pleasant for once. On arrival at the summit I take some photographs because seeing the circle in such light conditions is a real rarity. For some reason I take lots of the Druids Circle in the light and then some more of the small circle just beyond it,which I can only see in shadow, despite the conditions. Light and shade. Kal’s story will explain why this is so – our stories overlap quite a lot today.

Spring 2014 – The Earth and Fire Angels

Posted on March 31, 2014March 26, 2014 By Gwas 1 Comment on Spring 2014 – The Earth and Fire Angels
Angels, Elemental

The third elemental angel was found at the end of one of the muddiest walks I have ever done. I think there was barely a moment on the walk when Kal wasn’t complaining – but that’s what you get if you wear inappropriate clothing. This is Cumbria!! We parked at Long Meg stone circle, just … Read More “Spring 2014 – The Earth and Fire Angels” »
