Gop Hill bares all – Part 2

Gop Hill bares all – Part 2
Ancient Sites, Hills and Mounds, Land healing, Spirit of Place

In the second part of the story of my visit to Gop Hill with the shaman Debra I will reveal a powerful change to the energies of the place, and how we dealt with that information. The sky was unashamedly grey, as though pigeons were gathering in dense flocks. I surveyed the sky for any … Read More “Gop Hill bares all – Part 2” »

Gop Hill bares all – Part 1
Ancient Sites, Hills and Mounds

In what is an uncommon privilege I got to work with one of the most eminent examples of what I would call a “wise woman” this week. Debra Delglyn is a well-travelled and widely-experienced practitioner of shamanic arts of all sorts. When we work together I come away wishing I had the time and dedication … Read More “Gop Hill bares all – Part 1” »

Summary of the Year 2015 Part 1

Summary of the Year 2015 Part 1
Yearly Update

I was quite hesitant about producing “the usual” summary of the year. It has clearly not been a normal year. In fact, I would go as far as to say that the first half was good, but the second half took a much more dark and difficult turn. I’m not used to that. In all … Read More “Summary of the Year 2015 Part 1” »

A Meeting of Minds

Posted on October 16, 2014 By Chris 2 Comments on A Meeting of Minds
A Meeting of Minds
Angels, Elemental, Healing, Hedge Druidry, Natural Magick

Due to the nature of the way I work these days I am now coming across people who share my outlook on life. One such person is Debra Delgyn, an holistic therapist and shaman from Manchester. We had met weeks ago at a networking event and almost without having much of a conversation we just knew we would have a lot in common. Bless her, Debra made the effort to get us together for an afternoon, and so I decided to show her some one of the formative places that I had used when beginning my druidic training – Frodsham Hill.

I have no idea why I chose this particular part of the hill – it was a cliff covered in green moss and lichen which shone with an eerie fluorescence against its red sandstone background. I think the site must have drawn my attention too many times as I have passed it. I have worked at many places all around this cliff face, but never spent any time actually at that spot. Yet, here I was with an experienced shaman, and striding with confidence up the hill to reveal its presence. Luckily for me, presence is exactly what we found.

Sandstone cliff near Frodsham

I used my dowsing rods to determine the best spots for us both to sit at. For Debra it was a moss-covered rock, and for me it was beside a small oak tree who corkscrew shape showed me that it was a place of strong subtle energy forces. I wasn’t the only one to notice that, and that pleased me as it confirmed that I was working with someone on my wavelength.

The Net of Light

I watched fascinated as Debra began to unpack some of the paraphernalia from her “crane bag”. I didn’t recognise much of what she laid out – I’m such a novice in these respects.

After we had settled in we talked about the spot. I asked her if she felt the force of the subtle energy flow coming off the cliff. For me it was so palpable that it threatened to push me off the path and roll me down the hillside! She agreed that it could be felt. A good start.

We chatted briefly and she asked me about the view beyond the near trees. I told her that it was the Weaver Estuary, and that it was surrounded by chemical factories. Then I mentioned The Marshes – an area of polluted land which had taken the brunt of the chemical waste from the estuary over the years.

We then talked about the presence of rock (or ‘gnomic’) beings in the rock face behind us, and how we could perhaps interact with these forces, and ask them if they could help us to send out healing into the polluted lands below us. Debra talked of a “Net of Light” which could be used to perform healing of the land. I understood the concept, because of course I have been healing the land for years. Vocabulary aside, we knew what we meant to do, however we would choose to do it.

6 Beltane 2014 – Bel and Titania at Kerzerho

Kal walked into the wooded grove at Kerzerho first. He seemed to stand in awe, and went silent. As soon as I entered the space I understood why. I looked at him and he looked at me: “Faery glen!” he said. I agreed. The space was magickal, and bustling with subtle energy life of a kind which we rarely encounter. The space was beautiful – lit perfectly by the sun, dappled, with beautiful trees, mossy seats on the ground, and stones which seemed to be alive.

Kal did some dowsing, some meditation, and then left me to it. He knew I wanted to work here. All I could do was sit down and marvel at the space, but before I became “entranced” at this entrance into another world I regained my senses. I put up protection, lit several sticks of incense and placed them around the area. Then I sat back down and asked for my spirit guide to accompany on whatever journey I might be in for.

I set about trying to contact the spirits of  the glade. I came across two – the word “Beltane” split into two names: “Bel ” and “Titania“. Although etymologically the name “Bel ” means “Lord”, in the context in which I found myself it was clearly assigned to the self-proclaimed “Lordly” spirit of the faeries which inhabited this grove. I was being addressed by the Faery King and Queen.

In William Bloom‘s hierarchy of spirits the Faery race are found between the Gnomes and the Fauns. They are a stage further developed than the elemental forces, and as a faery responsible for the form of plants. The next stage, Faun, is responsible for trees. The King and Queen of Faery are therefore the spirits responsible for the development of all plants, according to Bloom.

In this context I was immensely respectful for this opportunity, and yet a delightful playfulness accompanied the whole encounter. I decided to honour them with a joyful impromptu ditty, and so I began to recite a limerick.

Dowsing, Energy grid, Energy work, Glyphs and Wards, Signs and Synchronicity

You know, when we look back at our sacred journeys we often find links, connections and synchronicities all over the place. In the midst of pilgrimages however they are often unseen. About half way along the avenue of stones there is a turn off that takes you out of the way a bit to a … Read More “Tatiana the Shaman Beltane 2014 – 05” »

3 Beltane 2014 – Carnac and the Taliesin Quest Pt1

Posted on May 18, 2014May 8, 2014 By Gwas 1 Comment on 3 Beltane 2014 – Carnac and the Taliesin Quest Pt1

The sky was finally cracking. The deep cloud cover was thinning and the glimpse of a possibility of sunshine for the afternoon at Carnac – France’s most amazing megalithic complex – was enticing. We paused briefly at the local creperie at Menec village – feeling like proper tourists, sipping our “boules de cidre” before heading off to the fields of stones.

As Kal has already mentioned several times, the theme of the day was “interdit” – access forbidden. However, as I have said many times on this blog, and I make no apologies for it, I believe that those who wish to work at sacred sites have special privileges when it comes to sacred sites. Of course, we care more than anyone else about preserving our heritage – that’s exactly what we are about! Yet, we are also respectful people by nature, and so when someone puts up a fence with the instructions not to pass, and they say it’s for the good of the flora and fauna, then we tend to acquiesce. But this is Carnac – surely, at some point in the many fields of megaliths, there will be a way we can work in some small space without feeling like intruders or trespassers? Don’t they know I have a quest to fulfil?

Menec

The first set of fields – the Menec side of Carnac – I am less interested in. Tourism – the eternal tramp of the curious and the vituperous – exacts a toll on the energetic welfare of even such a subtle engine as the mighty Carnac. Menec is the lamb offered up to the tourists as the sacrificial and the picturesque. We walk alongside the low green fence like the bus-loads of others here today and every other day, and we take our mementos too – snapping, wise-cracking and side-glancing at the stately rows as they curl off into the distance towards the bisecting road which brought us here. A white open-top double-decker bus passes us by, laden with scarf-wearing long-lensed visitors from Planet Normal.

Energy tendrils emerge like Dr Octopus

Yet, as one half of my brain acts as tourist, the other half is already shifting into a different frame, another operational state. I feel, unbidden, tendrils of energy emerging from my energetic centre – a place I am going to call The Confluence Point. This is the point on your energy body where all of your energy fibres (or tendrils) bundle together, and from which they can be extended outwards into the world. The tendrils move away towards the stones, writhing like an involuntary Dr Octopus, joining the subtle energy paths which slink through the nearby stone rows. I close my eyes to see how it feels without vision, and I see The Wheel of the Year spinning slowly, turning my inner mind’s eye with it. The energy engine has begun to turn!!
