Reconfigurations and Repurcussions

Reconfigurations and Repurcussions
Castles and Forts, Crystals, Energy cleansing, Hills and Mounds, Ritual, Shades and Death Energies

It was the first energetic thing that I could bring myself to do after Kal’s death. I knew what needed to be done, but I needed a week away to even begin to get enough space between the event and what I needed to find the strength to do. Energetically, shamanically, we had discussed the concept of clearing death energy many times. This was not the circumstance in which I ever intended to use such practices.

Yet the fact remained. Kal’s energy needed to be released from the spot where he had died. Only I knew that. Only I knew how to do that. Only I cared that it was done. He would only have wanted me to be the one to do it. So I had to stiffen up the sinews and go back there. Back to the slopes of Dinas Bran in Llangollen.

On the way it looked so familiar. I remembered all of our conversation that day – his hopes for the future; his travel plans; how other people seemed not to share our levels of commitment to this kind of spiritual work; our shared admiration for Carlos Castaneda’s accounts; and how I was dressed in white and he was in black. Some things were profound, others insignificant. At the time we may not have known which were which.

A Hard Rain

As I began the climb memories came flooding back as though a sluice gate had been opened. As I walked I re-traced the path as exactly as I could, in a meditative state of mind all the way. I walked past the fateful spot and felt my heart ache. That feeling again. A feeling like someone was gripping my heart in some kind of Dim Mak move from a martial arts film.

I reached the top and the strain on my heart got stronger with each step. I was re-living Kal’s experience, I felt. To the point where I thought I might suffer the same effects! As I reached the top the rain began, and I knew this was the beginning of the cleansing process.

All things are possible

Posted on June 25, 2014June 6, 2014 By Gwas 7 Comments on All things are possible
Signs and Synchronicity, Spirit Guides

I don’t usually bring aspects of my mundane life into this blog. I like to keep these things separate, because I don’t want to spoil the rich and fertile magickal world we have created by the stories that we have created here in this space. However, at the moment, there are things going on in my life which could mean a great change to the way that I spend my time soon. I have also begun to notice that there is an increasing “overspill” between my normal life and the magickal world. They are beginning to inter-twine, like catching one’s foot in a bramble on what you thought was a clear path. Here is an example of that.

I am sitting at home in my study, probably typing out a story like this one. I hear a sound like several pots and pans that were stacked up being knocked over. The clatter is unmistakeable, yet incongruous because it is outside my window, at the front of the house. What would pans be doing outside, and being knocked over? We live in a very quiet neighbourhood where the only likely disturbance is from cats passing through. That’s what it must be, I think to myself – a cat has knocked something over outside. I can’t see what it is because it’s dark, but I go straight to the window anyway. No movement. No cat. No pans. No other noise.

Then my rational brain offers further suggestions. If there’s nothing outside then it must have been inside. The commotion was probably our cat seeing off one of the neighbourhood cats. [The cat flap is locked at night]. I must have forgotten to lock it [I hadn’t] and when I get down in the morning there will probably be something knocked over which accounts for the noise.

In the morning I gingerly open the front room door. Everything is at peace. Nothing has moved. There is no sign of a disturbance. Nothing is out of place. I double check. Nothing. I will look outside when I got out in a minute. After breakfast I leave the house, having almost forgotten the incident. Outside the morning light shines off the dull brickwork paving blocks, but there is something different. A small pink something.

Tree Tarot for Imbolc 2014

Hedge Druidry, Tarot, Wheel of the Year

You may remember that I did a tarot layout using the Camelot Oracle to help provide a framework for my work last year. I expected to do the same this year, so when i got prepared to do a layout I went seeking the cards. I felt a strong aversion to using the Camelot cards! … Read More “Tree Tarot for Imbolc 2014” »

Using signs in daily life

Energy work, Hedge Druidry, Signs and Synchronicity

There have been a lot of ‘big’ posts recently, but here is a little one. A little story about how the forces of Nature can work with you in daily life to make your life a little better. I often go out running at lunch time. My work is flexible enough to allow it, and … Read More “Using signs in daily life” »

Elemental Sigils

Dowsing, Glyphs and Wards, Hedge Druidry

It was Lenten Moon – the February full moon – on February 25th. Kal and I discussed where we might go to do some work: I wanted to stay local but he wanted something more exotic. Sometimes we agree to differ, so I was left to work at home. As it turned out the moon … Read More “Elemental Sigils” »

The Berth and Death of Scorpius 2011
Ancient Sites

I sometimes find myself doing some very strange things without knowing why. This night was one of those strange evenings, and yet the strangeness would continue beyond this night and lead to an even stranger conclusion by the time I had finished unravelling all of the clues. I had decided that at some point in the week … Read More “The Berth and Death of Scorpius 2011” »

Dowsing, Quickie

Recently I decided to return to the world of IT and computing. To this end I had and am applying for various positions with the field of contract web development. To understand the following you will have to appreciate that for the last 12 years I have only ever taken contract positions. In fact I … Read More “A mirror cracked” »
