We are approaching the pagan festival of Imbolc soon : a time when life stirs in the land. As I seem to have been not posting as often as I was I wanted to let you all know that life stirs on the blog too. Here are some of the topics that I will be posting on shortly:-
Planned Field Trips
So many this year. For now I’ll confine myself to listing the sites we will be visiting in the next few months. Then I will suggest a few that are in the planning stages.
Next
- Owen Glyndwr’s Stone – finding and dowsing this cup-marked stone this weekend. Then visiting the caves nearby, and a ring cairn too. Any standing stones in the area of the A5 we might have to detour to see as well. A full weekend planned. A massive blog expected from this one!
- Penmaenmawr – not so much for the circles and cairns up there (although I probably won’t miss the opportunity if it arises) but Saturday night and Sunday are expected to be very windy – gale force. After my last experience of bring at the Druid’s Circle in a gale I want to repeat that experience! It energised me so much that I buzzed my way through the Yule season with a happy smile on my face. To be repeated if possible.
Planned
- Callenish – at Midwinter Solstice, but potentially a bugger to get to!
- Carnac – Northern France’s avenues of stone are too tempting to resist this year, especially as my aunty and uncle have a villa nearby!
- Newgrange – Ireland is such a lovely country that even the almost certain drizzle won’t put me off this year. A weekend away in Ireland seems a distinct possibility.
- Stonehenge and Avebury – a bit of guerrilla dowsing might have to be employed here in order to get the information we need. Shhh…you ain’t seen us, right?
- Crop Circles in Wiltshire – whilst we’re down there we might as well try to locate and dowse a genuine crop circle. If you plan to go along to one too go easy on us – we get very animated at sites and may disturb the peace! Why not say hello if you see two ‘young’ dowsers acting strangely? 😉
Article and Book
I have been hard at work researching some topics that are producing a very long article and the outline for a book. The topics are:
- Serpent Energies, Serpent Cults – an article studying comparative worship of the serpent through history. I hope to demonstrate how these cults and religions have encapsulated and passed on the knowledge of Nature’s energies through the Mystery School tradition of the Western world, and through kundalini and chi energy practises in the Eastern world. I will be comparing the various techniques still known about, and speculating about the uses of various megalithic structures by those serpent-worshipping peoples.
- Esoteric Earth Energies – I have the outline plan for a book about dowsing, energies and energy working that will be a comprehensive digest of the qualities and practises that Kal and I have recorded on this blog, and those that we haven’t had the audacity to publish. Those bits are still to be confirmed, but once we master the techniques and verify the speculation, it will all be added to the book. I hope to have a first draft of the book this year. Where the process goes from there, I don’t know yet! Many thanks to those who have given gentle encouragement to this work. It’s my first effort.
Practical Research
This year I plan to spend some time developing the physical aspects of energy work in the following areas:-
- Qigong (chi kung) – this ancient oriental form of energy work seems to have similar characteristics to the meditative druidic and shamanistic techniques that Kal and I have been using. I plan to learn how to raise, store and direct my internal energies in harmony with the energy systems we have found at sacred sites. I hope this will encourage stronger responses and greater progress towards understanding the way that these sites were used by our ancestors.
- Holy Water – I have been promising myself to do some practical experiments with the growth rate of plants and the effects of holy water from sacred wells and springs. This Spring seems like the ideal time to begin that experiment in a controlled manner, and observe the results.
- Manifestations – with some amazing success, and some dismal failures, we are starting to understand the conditions for successfully manifesting and transmitting energy. We are determined to pursue this further until we can perform some actions with confidence about the result, and then we will discuss what this means more fully. For now – more small and localised experiments will be undertaken regularly.
Note for O: A violet (third eye chakra) female energy spiral appeared in my front room. Close, or no cigar?
Pagan Festivals
I have booked all my holidays for the year on days that fall on the old pagan festival dates. The first one this year is Imbolc on February 1st/2nd. On each of the dates I plan to go dowsing to see what effect each of the festivals has on the earth energy systems. I will be focussing on the particular characteristics of the festival (i.e. what qualities is it supposed to represent) and trying to pick sites in North Wales and Derbyshire that enhance that experience. For example, with Imbolc, I will be visiting sites dedicated to Brigid, will be doing healing energy work, and will probably have a candle with me, as this is a pagan fire festival. I wait to find out what effect this has on the strength and direction of the earth energies, and seeing if the sites produce any valuable energy work.
Look out for posts shortly after the significant pagan dates as I explain where I went, what I did, and what happened. Of course we will still be regularly posting in between those times too. We can’t help ourselves! 😉

Thought you might be interested, The secrets of stonehenge : Time Team special thwarts the hospital theory… repeating on More 4 13th June 10pm.
Thanks Lummie. I recorded it and got to watch it too (always a bonus). I agree that it is the most solid and complete explanation yet, and really knocks the somewhat fragile “hospital/healing'” theory aside. Energetically I would be surprised if its purpose was simply celebration and veneration, but Kal and I will have to try to dowse for that when we visit Stonehenge again at the end of July.
