Soul Companions

Apparently, some people pay to learn how to connect with the energies of ancient sites. For example, on Philip Carr-Gomm’s blog there is a post about Soul Companions, who offer you a weekend away in Dorset to learn some pretty cool stuff. Most notably they advertise:

“SACRED PLACES – MESSENGERS OF THE GODS
Sacred Places are found all over the world and in every spiritual tradition, but what is it about them that makes them so interesting? In this workshop we’ll start to explore their magic and purpose, and examine both the benefits and pitfalls of pilgrimage and visits to sacred sites. We will also work with a specific technique to journey in the inner world to sacred sites, and look at ways in which we can deepen our connections with them.”

Do you really have to spend a mere weekend learning this? Are you that short of time? Why not just pick your closest site on any day, and sit there for a good long while? I am convinced even the most hard-headed would come away from that with a positive experience. However, it might be your kind of thing – perhaps you need people to tell you how to do it – after all we read books about it all. Choice, I suppose. But can someone else guide you to your own awareness? Only you decide when and where. Perhaps Dorset in April is a good time?

However, I offer a cheaper alternative in this Year of the Crunchable Credit. If you’ve been reading our posts on such matters you already have all the pointers you’re going to need to get right into the thick of such work. See the section entitled ‘“Waymarkers on the True Path”: a guide to progression‘ on the Theories & Thoughts page of this blog for some home-spun guidance on how to kick-start this interaction.

The only price you pay is time. In the cheeky words of The Smiths, “These things take time!“. You may also wish to invest in emotion, belief, commitment and perseverance – they all seem to help the process along towards understanding.

Also from that great song:

“I’m spellbound, oh … but a woman divides
And the hills are alive with celibate cries
But you know where you came from, you know where
You’re going and you know where you belong.”

(The Smiths – “These Things Take Time”)

I belong alongside Nature, so I work with Nature and let her guide me. 🙂

Gwas.

Following Nature’s time.
