Mid-Summer Night’s Dream

Posted on August 3, 2010August 3, 2010 By kal 3 Comments on Mid-Summer Night’s Dream
Edge Wizardry, Tarot

Last night I had a dream….In the dream someone was calling me. It was a gentle voice that seemed to come on the breeze, it whispered that “It was time” and I should come. I “floated” out of my bed and flew in the direction of the voice. I thought at first it was coming from Alderley Edge as that was the direction I was heading in but I passed over that and continued on.

As I continued this, rather slow for a dream, journey I realised that it was coming from the Oak tree by the side of Nine Stones Close stone circle. Just as I arrived at the circle I woke up. So now I am off (at 7a.m.) in the morning to see or hear what there is to experience there…

Tools of the trade

So I wrote the above section before I set off and I just returned now at 4pm. And I have to say, I am transformed.

Before I left I dowsed to see what tools would be required and the rods went mad, I needed to take…

  • Incense, Crystals, Tarot Cards

And two other things. I couldn’t think what so I asked the rods to show me and I diligently followed them out of the front door (what???) and right to my rose bush. Was I to take cuttings from it? No, Apparently I was to take some rose flowers from it. How many? Five.

The other thing that they led me to was hidden under a pile of junk (er home stuff) which I removed item by item checking each one and finally arrived at my singing bowl.

Wow! this seemed like it was going to be a fantastic ceremony!

I arrived at Nine Stones Close and the weather was gorgeous, the sun was out and the sky was “The Simpsons” blue. As I approached the Oak and the stones I felt a welcoming greeting from the Oak tree whose aura I had healed, wow was it only a year ago? Feels like a century ago!

Preparation

I asked the dowsing rods what preparation was needed and here is the results.

  • I would be sitting under the Oak tree’s eaves facing the stones.
  • Crystals ~ I used five crystals and placed them in a pentagram around me. Although I had a wide selection of them, it seems I was only going to be using Quartz today.
  • Incense ~ Again five sticks each next to the crystals. Funny thing was that as I dowsed to place these I was taken around all four stones before placing it right next to a crystal – How odd is that?

The Tarot Cards

Next I was to shuffle the Tarot cards and pick three of them, this I did and came up with following:

  1. The Page of Wands,
  2. The Devil (Reversed),
  3. The Knight of Pentacles (Reversed)

I hadn’t taken my (best) Tarot book with me at the time I only superficially knew what they meant…

  1. Page of Wands = starting out on an intellectual pursuit, focusing on intellectual aspects, not a novice but on the second stage so to speak.
  2. Devil reversed = letting go of illusions and finding the truth
  3. Knight of Pentacles Reversed = finding value in non materialistic things

I will write a fuller meaning of these below (as I haven’t looked them up myself yet).

The Vision

So I sat myself down with all the pieces in place and completely forgot the singing bowl. As I was reflecting and trying to quiet my mind a couple of people came by which interrupted me and I lost my focus. I waited for them to move on and as a consequence recalled the singing bowl.

When they had gone I got up and dowsed the relevance of the singing bowl and learned that I had to use that in the ceremony too. There I was again, this time with singing bowl to hand. I bonged it a couple of times to “clear” the air and sat and reflected. My thoughts were on the line of…

You asked me to come so here I am.

I didn’t know what I was saying this to – the tree, the stones, the Genius Loci? But I figured whatever it was would know.

The Lessons

Nothing seemed to be happening and my mind wandered over the time that I had helped the aura of the tree behind me heal. I thought to myself, that was where it all had started in a big way for me. Then came the pan-like dancing that had happened a few days later. As I wandered along the journey so far in my ind, I had highlights of when I had gone to Alderley Edge and found the Wizard and when I had the commune with the Old Yew in Llangernyw. I twas at that point that I kind of split into two and one consciousness saw the other reviewing some of my experiences…

  1. Healing the Oak aura
  2. Learning about Pride in Nine ladies
  3. Having my aura shredded in a awful experience
  4. Learning from the Yew tree about death energies
  5. Leprechaun incident in Ireland
  6. Knowth and the 3rd eye opening again in Ireland
  7. Dowth and seeing back in time

I was taken on a tour (kind of life review but only for about 4 years) back to the first two events. The first was my encounter with a Fire Elemental which burned me really badly and the second was my Reiki Masters attunement.

As I sat there I could look back and forth along this “film” of my lifes events over the past four years as much as I wanted to and in as much detail. It was as if there was a thread that connected them all.

The other funny thing that I felt was that the vibration from the singing bowl was forming the film strip…I know sounds weird but imagine if the sound turned into the film and the pictures were then super imposed upon it.

This sound wave/film strip wound away and turned into a spiral. On the spiral I saw that the four year period was one revolution of the spiral.

A new spiral

I knew then that I was starting on a new spiral. This wasn’t like the start of a new year kind of spiral, this was more of a start of “the next” spiral in terms of my life.

I had been sat on the ground for about half-hour I reckoned and my legs had begun to hurt (note to self – take cushion next time). So I was wondering how long this would go on for.

Faith

I was told that I had to do something. I didnt like the idea of being told nor the not knowing what was doing the telling. But then I got that I had to do it because I had chosen that path. What?? Then I was shown the Fire Elemental experience again and I remembered…

When I had that experience, which lasted for about a month I recall asking the elemental how it had gotten into my sacred space and it had said that I had invited it. I categorically hadn’t but it had said that I had, indirectly. I had asked for something and in that asking I had invited it in as a catalyst for change.

So I wondered if this was a similar thing? Yes, you have chosen a path that demands two things from you. The first is that you have faith. Or rather it didn’t matter whether I had faith as long as I did what was needed.

And if I didn’t, then I would go back around the last spiral again. Four years! Hmmm Okay.

What was the second? That I had to sacrifice something.

Now I didnt like the sound of either of these. Looked like I was on the losing end of both off these “commands”. Why am I always being asked to this kind of thing? Spirit Walker, Dealing with the Old Crone, Poseidon…For a moment I really felt like one of those old heroes in the Greek myths…

“What more do you want of me?”

I asked was there a reason for these demands and the answer was a definite yes. Why then? Because I forget and don’t take the “suggestions” seriously. Duh? Like?

  1. the wand maker
  2. the lessons with cailleach
  3. the three gifts from Glastonbury

I have been given many gifts and I am squandering them? Okay thanks for that chastisement.

What I have been told to do

I guess I am lucky as I have only been given 5 tasks to perform. I can’t tell you what they are but they have to be performed by the completion of this year (winter solstice). I dowsed for it.

However I can tell you after I have completed each one. So watch this space! Apparently between the 2nd and 3rd task there will have to be made a sacrifice.

I am not to happy about having things demanded of me but I am “told” that its the only way for me to get on the next spiral of life. Or its back like the proverbial Sisyphus!

Offering

I wandered around the stones doing some dowsing to confirm various things and to get the tasks clear in my mind and wondering how I was going to go about doing them. In total I must have spent two hours at the site! Phew!

So there was only one last thing to do and that was the gratitude expression. This is where the rose petals came in and I left one flower at each place the incense had burned.

    Hello Taryn,

Your meditation, “the thread…” reminded me of an experience I had which included “threads” perhaps this will provide some insights?

Lughnasadh has been particulary potent for me too this year…my grove meditation involved an old woman who kept on repeating ‘The Thread, the Thread’ which I’m yet to understand, and my feet on the ‘yellow brick’ road of all things. I am never surprised at the symbology that happens these days…
