Although I feel that I get intuitive nudges quite often. It is a rare when I follow them, since the lure of rational and reasonable thoughts outweighs the feather light touch of intuition.
Today however was an exception. I was returning home on the bus and had gone right to the back seat to sit down. As I did I noted the hand-holding bar right in front of me. Although I have never had any mis-hap on a bus, a thought occurred to me. “Ooh, you don’t want to be banging your head on that if the bus crashes.”
For a second, my rational mind replied, “When has that ever happened? Never, so don’t worry about it.” But I kind of second-guessed myself and slid a foot to the left where the front side of me was clear. Quite literally a few seconds later the bus screeched to a halt as a car in front braked and I lunged forward with the inertia.
Had I been sat in my initial position my head would have struck the bar. Fortunately intuition saved my skull a good crack.
Interesting, isn’t it? A question comes to mind, did I predict the future?
Oh what puzzles we weave…
