Map dowsing of a sort

Dowsing, Experiment, How To, Modern Druidry

The nights are still closing in early as we are literally in the middle of the winter if we take winter as Dec – Jan – Feb months, eugh! So I was playing around with some old-fashioned dowsing with a pendulum last night.

As a previous post suggests I am becoming interested in Knighthood and with that in mind I wondered if there was any site that would be helpful to visit.

I went over to our Sites page and printed off the list of sites. Getting my ‘yes’ and ‘no’ responses sorted out:

With a pendulum our YES and NO responses aren’t fixed as they seem to be with dowsing rods. With rods you tell the rods that a cross is a Yes and a open is a no. With a pendulum you ask for a Yes response and then ask for a No one. Currently my Yes is a circular motion and No is a back and to motion.

With one hand holding the pendulum and the other hands finger traversing the list I asked to show me which site(s) would be useful to visit.

Let me begin by saying that I was hoping for sites such as Tintagel (i.e. related to Arthur) and Nine Stones Close or Ye Ancient Yew (my favourite learning sites).

Instead, out of all of the sites I got one! Just one, I did it three times and even had a go with my hands so far apart that I couldn’t see the list.

The site? Lud’s Church! Gwas has visited this site twice I think and I haven’t had the pleasure. Why Lud’s Church? I  have no idea, but expect a report from that place soon!

Kal Malik – A knights Quest!

Addendum

A quick email exchange with Gwas the next day had him suggesting that Lud’s church had a connection with the Green Knight. So with my trusty servant aka Google I wandered the web in search of references and found a fair few!

Perhaps I should be looking to the tale of Sir Gawain and the Green (Glas) Knight?
