The story so far…Early on this (2014) year I was tasked to collect (what does that mean?) four elements. Didn’t sound that bad until I learned that each element was to be collected from abroad. Of course these quests never seem to come with the entire manual in one go so it was that on another journey to our favourite wise-acre Ye Olde Yew in Llangernyw revealed that the elements were to be collected in a particular order:
- Earth Water Fire Air (incidentally not as the above image describes).
Earlier (Beltane) this year we sojourned to Carnac in Britanny France where I was able to acquire the element of Earth. This allowed me to be able to anchor myself to the core of the Earth. An interesting feat I have to say.
A couple of months later we travelled to Scotland and me residing in the UK, was tempted to believe that this would provide an opportunity for gaining the second element, Water. Alas the powers that be did not consider Scotland to be a foreign country.
Just an interesting note here. If Scotland had devolved from the UK then it would have been a place that I could have acquired the Water element. As it happens, another trip abroad needed to be made. Chris and I both enjoy visiting Ireland and so a trip across the water to the Emerald Isle was planned.
It was during the very first day of that trip that I was able to gain the element of Water, as told here. Gaining that element allowed me to see into the depth of things. Whether it is beings or ideas or objects. I have to say however that seeing into somethings (such as the Fay) is still impossible! Doh!
I have as yet to gather the Fire and Air elements, in that order. Fortunately I have not been given a time frame for this quest but I suspect that it will conclude early next (2015) year.
Kal Malik – half way there!
