7 Beltane 2014 – Astral Travel at The Merchant’s Table

Posted on June 1, 2014June 1, 2014 By Gwas 1 Comment on 7 Beltane 2014 – Astral Travel at The Merchant’s Table
Ancient Sites, Crystals, Remote Viewing, Wheel of the Year

It was our final day touring the sites of Brittany. We had made a doleful and dismal attempt to visit the Locmaraquier centre the day before. Open on a Bank Holiday? Non. Allez rentree, s’il vous plait! Now we are back! This time it’s open. If you want to check the opening times yourself before you try visiting, then you can check this site.

Of course, we skip the visitor centre and the video presentations, and even decline the guide maps and leaflets (much to the surprise of the staff). Our purpose is much more interesting than archaeological or historic. Actually, what is my purpose today? I don’t actually know, but we wander around waiting for something to spark our interest. We walk straight around the reconstructed long cairn. Although it must have been impressive in its day, now it is merely a low scree of stones with no power at all. Onwards!

Table Des Marchands

We passed quickly to the re-constructed so-called Table of Merchants. It would have been a funny business that they transacted in this reconstructed burial chamber, and yet the energies were favourable to some work. Kal did his dowsing outside of the structure, leaving me to head inside once I had done some preliminary preparation by a handy yew tree which flanks the structure.

I steps inside the reconstructed chamber. A carefully positioned light changes to reveal the relief patterns carved on the tall stone at the back of the chamber. For a moment I’m a tourist again, spellbound by the cryptic messages that we now wonder about. Then I’m back as a druid again, a modern inheritor of traditions as reconstructed as the chamber itself. We like to guess that we’re rediscovering the spirit of our ancestors, but really we have no clue, and can only follow our own paths with heart, with clear intent, and with sincerity. That much we share with these ancients.

Convincing mediums?

Posted on January 6, 2013January 6, 2013 By Gwas 6 Comments on Convincing mediums?
Paranormal

Some mediums I have experienced are very convincing. Others have developed a convincing act. How is it possible to distinguish the two? I would suggest that only through personal verifiable experience can we truly convince ourselves if their veracity. I went to see Sally Morgan this year. It was a packed house in the centre of … Read More “Convincing mediums?” »

2012 – Summary of the Year by Gwas

Posted on December 27, 2012December 28, 2012 By Gwas No Comments on 2012 – Summary of the Year by Gwas
Ancient Sites

My summary of the year could easily take up several posts, but I’m not going to do that. Instead, I’m going to highlight the many important distinct elements that have taken place this year, and then provide links to the posts that illustrate these elements. On the whole it has been an amazingly packed, dense, active year. … Read More “2012 – Summary of the Year by Gwas” »

Ding Dong – Bran calling!

Posted on November 8, 2012November 9, 2012 By Gwas No Comments on Ding Dong – Bran calling!
Ancient Sites, Other Entities, Wheel of the Year

On a path such as mine I have a few rules – “reciprocal investments” you might call them – tacit agreements. The idea is that if I “tune in” to the Flow of the Universe in search of inspiration, then I must be prepared to act upon its motivations. In other words, if I ask … Read More “Ding Dong – Bran calling!” »

Lammas 2012 – Healing History

Posted on August 27, 2012August 30, 2012 By Gwas 5 Comments on Lammas 2012 – Healing History
Ancient Sites, Experiment, Glyphs and Wards, Quests, Wheel of the Year

The day began with the promise of something beautiful to emerge from the nascent silver-grey clouds, whose meagre partings would later reveal the full glory of the late summer sun. Intrepid as always, and eager like beagles penned until their exuberance breaks free, Kal and I rushed for the mutually agreed starting point for most of our special journeys into the magical adventures we live through in Wales. We would start at the Llangernyw Yew and see what visions it might divulge to us today – August 1st – the festival of Lammas in the pagan calendars. At the beginning of the adventure the day felt pregnant with possibilities, and it would happen that I would have a wonderful and inspiring revelation, learn a new magickal technique for self-healing the traumas of the past, and find my way onto the next part of my spiritual path. Let the tale begin!

It was mere seconds before Nature herself was showing me the signs and symbols that have accompanied so many of my special days around the Wheel of the Year. As soon as I began to drive off from home I heard first then saw a buzzard flying low over the car and circling around a nearby field. Of course – all such days should start with the aerial vision from the hawk! The hawk would also re-appear at the end of the day as we returned to the car to drive home again. Almost like a closing narrator to the proceedings, having the final word.

As well as all these coincidental and contrived moments, I was aware that we would be spending the day in the company of the invisible Grain Moon – the August full moon that was burgeoning with its astral emanations on this day and those that surrounded it. It felt like everything was gathering in order to give us the best chance of having a truly meaningful and magickal experience – which is exactly what happened when we followed our intuition and our guides.

The Safety of the Yew Tree

Llangernyw Yew in full splendour

Although yews have many poisonous parts (berries and bark to name but two) there is something that I consider to be very safe about being around this old tree. The Llangernyw Yew is so old that it baffles your sense of history to even consider when it sprouted. Let’s just say that when this tree was beginning its life our ancestors were discovering the wonders of mixing Copper with Zinc to produce a new metal for the first time.

As Kal wandered around the graveyard like a lost ghost (he always has a purpose, really) I sat beneath the tree’s canopy and felt for the right place to sit. I found my place and found that I could connect to the tree very quickly. Moon? Festival Day? Noon? My energy? More experienced? Previous encounters? I don’t know what the magic combination was, but within seconds I was asking for and receiving answers from the bowels of the great yew….

  • “Have I completed the last quest yet?” – “It is a continuous quest until the end of the year.”. Straight question, straight answer.
  • “Am I ready for a quest for this part of the year?” – “You have enough energy, yes.”
  • “Can you tell me the nature of this quest, please?” – “I can’t. You need to go to the Portal Stones.” (situated at the rear of the church). “OK – thanks!”

As I came out of my tree trance I met with wandering Kal. He told me what he had learned so far, and asked what I had got. Nothing yet, really. I’m off to see the Portal Stones. Kal pointed out that his attempts to make the sun appear through the slate-grey Welsh cloud cover was happening as we spoke. I looked up in amazement to see a fiery spotlight appear in the thick grey cloudscape. Impossible, I roared! Kal smiled. “Impossible is nothing!” he seemed to suggest.

Quest for the Third Eye

Posted on August 20, 2012August 20, 2012 By Gwas 3 Comments on Quest for the Third Eye
Hedge Druidry, Quests, Tarot, Wheel of the Year

My quest for the previous part of the Wheel of the Year (Solstice to Lammas) was to open my Third Eye. This was quite a hefty challenge, I felt, and Kal had said to me several times (with blowing of cheeks, and shrugging of shoulders) that it would be a lot to attempt in the … Read More “Quest for the Third Eye” »

Healing Gawtons Well

Posted on August 9, 2012August 9, 2012 By Gwas 15 Comments on Healing Gawtons Well
Ancient Sites, Dowsing, Energy cleansing, Remote Viewing

Sit down, get yourself a cup of tea! This is a long one. Yet, for all that, it is probably the most interesting experience I have ever had, as it taught me that my new-found abilities have evidence to back them up, and that has been a priceless reminder that following this druidic path is at the heart of my being, despite the moments of doubt along the way.

In the last few months I had my first visit to Knypersley Reservoir. During that visit I confirmed that there was something unwholesome, something that felt ‘bad’ about Gawton’s Well. Of course, such things are subjective, but it felt bad for me, for my friend, and for the person who reported the issue in the first place. Knowing we were all “nice” people, I felt this was sufficient grounds for me to try to reverse the situation, and to make the place feel more inviting to people of a similar disposition to me.

A group of friends had gathered together one late July afternoon for lunch and a chat. I was fidgety. In the back of my mind I knew that we were not far away from the Knypersley site, and it was on my mind to bring the matter to a conclusion soon. I put the matter to the circle of friends and they agreed to come out with me providing that the weather was in our favour. At that time it was sunny one minute and heavy rain the next. We agreed to see how the weather was on arrival. And so I had managed to rally some powerful psychics, mediums and energy workers to help me in my earth healing.

I knew that I was going to need some help from the group. Usually I work alone but after my last encounter with the strength of the force that pervaded the well area I wasn’t going to tackle this alone. In preparation I had done some remote viewing of the site to see if I could find out some information psychically. It was a sort of test of my new-found skills – the skills of the hawk – Gwalchmai’s Gift, if you like. The ability to remotely view a place from an aerial viewpoint.

Here is what I learned when I did that:-

  • The well has been used for dark ritualistic purposes (the group narrowed this down, but I won’t say more here).
  • There are many traps set up in the place – things buried, energetic trip-wires to alert the practitioners to the presence of those who work against them
  • The buried items are at a tree next to the well head, and another about fifteen feet to the left of the well head.
  • The worst element is the polluted well itself, which spreads its black energies out into the surrounding woodland and more importantly the nearby pool

This was the information I had to work with. There were two things that we knew from the previous visit that we would need in order to successfully re-balance the well’s energies – sunlight and joy. The sunlight was looking doubtful, and although there was good-hearted chatter, it was tinged with a wary doubt about what was to come.

As we approached alongside the reservoir two of us stopped – we felt an energetic barrier – like a checkpoint. Over the years I have become accustomed to the feel of such changes in energetic pressure. I liken it to walking outside into a hot day when having been in an air-conditioned room. You can feel a swell of change, like a wave or waft of air signifying a change in pressure between two places, but it is on an energetic level – nothing to do with the actual air temperature. You notice it in your navel region and it makes your diaphragm jerk in response, as though some invisible force was pushing at your abdomen.

I said to the assembly, “Someone knows we’re here.” The most experience of the psychics was calm and reassuring, “Indeed they do, but they can’t do anything about it.” A wry smile cheered everyone up a little.

Knypersley Pool – a place of faery dancing

We arrived at a bridge over a pond and some of the people who hadn’t visited before became entranced by the view of the pond on one side of the bridge wall. Well they might, for this had been the spot where previously Mike had seen nature spirits dancing on the pretty little island that stood in the water at the far end of the pond. Today others too saw the faeries excited at the presence of the group. The rest of us just took the opportunity to gather ourselves whilst there was talk of mini-rainbows exploding over the pond. Those with deeper sight were blessed with a spectacle that the rest of us could only imagine.

As we reconvened to go on there was a moment of silence that spoke volumes about the anticipation levels. I think everyone felt they were readying themselves for a tough energetic battle. A slight dreary rain began to fall as the clouds drew closer together to enhance the gloom.
