It was our final day touring the sites of Brittany. We had made a doleful and dismal attempt to visit the Locmaraquier centre the day before. Open on a Bank Holiday? Non. Allez rentree, s’il vous plait! Now we are back! This time it’s open. If you want to check the opening times yourself before you try visiting, then you can check this site.
Of course, we skip the visitor centre and the video presentations, and even decline the guide maps and leaflets (much to the surprise of the staff). Our purpose is much more interesting than archaeological or historic. Actually, what is my purpose today? I don’t actually know, but we wander around waiting for something to spark our interest. We walk straight around the reconstructed long cairn. Although it must have been impressive in its day, now it is merely a low scree of stones with no power at all. Onwards!
Table Des Marchands
We passed quickly to the re-constructed so-called Table of Merchants. It would have been a funny business that they transacted in this reconstructed burial chamber, and yet the energies were favourable to some work. Kal did his dowsing outside of the structure, leaving me to head inside once I had done some preliminary preparation by a handy yew tree which flanks the structure.
I steps inside the reconstructed chamber. A carefully positioned light changes to reveal the relief patterns carved on the tall stone at the back of the chamber. For a moment I’m a tourist again, spellbound by the cryptic messages that we now wonder about. Then I’m back as a druid again, a modern inheritor of traditions as reconstructed as the chamber itself. We like to guess that we’re rediscovering the spirit of our ancestors, but really we have no clue, and can only follow our own paths with heart, with clear intent, and with sincerity. That much we share with these ancients.
Flying Through the Books
I happen to have with me a crystal set which I created for the purpose of employing the assistance of elemental angels (see this post). I arrange the crystals around me so that they are correctly aligned to the cardinal points that I associate with the particular elements (land, sea, sky, sun). Then I stand alone inside the chamber and begin to connect to their energy vibrations, bringing them into the process of achieving a meditative state. I have been warned that these powers should be treated with a great deal of respect, and so I am only asking for the relevant energy to be attuned to my own field so that I work with that – I’m not greedy, I don’t need to call on them all until I know what to expect.
I sink deeper into darkness, falling down into the abyss of trance. I am aware of things going on around, outside, but they not reacted to. Instead I focus on the blankness, the space, the nothingness. A vision begins to form along with a feeling about the four angels around me. All four angelic figures combine together into one form – a form which surpringly identifies itself as “Merlin“. I don’t know what to make of that!
The angel begins to lift me up. I am being lifted through two sets of layers. These layers are energetic ‘leaves’, like the pages of books, and there are two of them to work through. As I pass through the second sheaf of energetic layers, then I begin to soar upwards in the company of this combined angelic form, Merlin.

Above those layers I am floating, and I can see myself slowly spinning, in an almost foetal shape. I see that I can move around as I wish – it is an astral body able to move anywhere and re-crystallise at any spot on the Earth. Hovering above the planet I need to make a decision about where I choose to re-composite myself. I am being given a lesson in astral travel by a trusted guide.
I choose to go to a familiar place – Dinas Bran – home of where I learned so much about remote viewing. My energy body is re-materialised there at one of the power centres I often use. Standing in the power centre I am able to lift the astral body up slowly until it is floating above the scene. I can see all of the energy emerging in columns of white whispy smoke from the power centres which dot the site. Wow – amazing! That’s SO useful! If I could do that in “real life” then….
Merlin’s voice speak quietly to me in reassuring tones. This ability to see power centres is now a learned action and I can call Merlin to lift me up into an astral body at any time. All I need is to position myself in a power centre remotely, then I will have sufficient energy to power the operation.
Really? I come out of trance, and I profusely thank this ‘combination’ angelic figure calling itself Merlin (I think this is a form that the angelic energies used to engage with me because it is a trusted form). If I can really call on this power at any time, then I’d like to test it out… right now! People are entering into the chamber to view the carvings and the reconstruction, so I stand back while they take photos, and smile as though to say, “Nothing to see here – move alogn when you’re ready!”. They stay 15 seconds. That’s a typical average time for most people. I, on the other hand, have now lost all sense of time!
I called Merlin, standing inside my crystal layout. He re-appeared and lifted me up once again. As I floated above the earth I thought of Gavrinis chamber – the chanber on a small island in the Bay of Morbihan which we didn’t manage to get to because of ferry times….
I was inside a dark chamber lit by a light which I couldn’t identify. I could see lots of markings on stones inside. Then I could see a glowing column of misty white light. I recognised it as a power centre and floated towards it. I was able to absorb the energy from the power centres in the tomb, and I felt as though the connection got stronger when I was within this misty white column. I knew that I would get a stronger vision the more energy can be put into the process.
I floated to the nearest stone to view the art. I traced my fingers along one pattern in the intricately grooved stone. As my finger reached the end of the pattern, I decided to come back to reality….

I was in a bit of a daze as I dismanted the crystal layout. The experience has taken energy, but then filled me back up with the energy I absorbed while in the Gavrinis chamber remotely. Coming back to reality felt “spacey”, and I was a bit slow to come around. I emerge out of the chamber and head over to a quiet area of the site, following the dowsing rods asking them to take me to a place to recover. They take me to a hidden area with a view over the coast nearby, and I dowse to confirm many of the questions I have about what just happened.
A few minutes after I go to stand by the large broken stone – the third major feature of this megalithich complex at Locmaraquier. There is a guide talking to a group of visitors in French. She is explaining that the Locmaraquier site layout is like a stylised animal. She then shows that the layout of Gavrinis is also the same animal shape! Sadly, with me sitting behind the assembled group I can’t actually see what she is showing, but some comparison between the sites is being made, and it isn’t simply that some of the stones from Gavrinis have been re-used at Locmaraquier. I was intrigued by the possible links between the two sites as an explanation for why I was shown the Gavrinis layout in my test remote session.
After this amazing moment, I thought that this would be all that happened here, but there was something unusual which would happen next.
