An article posted recently by Gregory Katz describes the latest findings from the archaeological excavations near to the Stonehenge complex of sites. The latest finding is the site of a bluestone circle, which is believed to have been associated with funeral rituals. But then we’ve heard things like that before. I would prefer to wait until I can get to dowse the site before I go along with such explanations, unless the archaeology is overwhelming, which it usually isn’t. The only hint we get is the line “there were signs that many human beings were cremated there.”
None of this information takes us much further than the recent excellent TV program about Stonehenge based upon the team’s earlier findings. I guess we’ll have to wait a bit longer for more information to emerge.
