Summer Solstice 2013 p8 Chevalier

Pilgrimage, Quests

Sometimes a theme arises that stretches across the whole of an experience or set of experiences. Such was the case when Gwas and I spent four days on a sacred journey that spanned several hundred miles and many fair and beautiful locations. It was 2013 and our sojourn wrapped itself around the days that marked the summer solstice. From the very first experience of that journey – in the abbey at Glastonbury, a whisper had made its presence in my consciousness. Chevalier was the word that stole its way into my being. Of course I knew its meaning…

Chevalier: a chivalrous man

However I was puzzled at its use, was this a new naming? A quest? Or just information? Then a couple of hours later, I was to hear the name again, this time atop the Tor. Over the course of the next three days, upon each occasion I was confronted with the vision of this title. Then upon our entrance into the Castle of Tintagel, when I lay within a secret power centre, the view of the crashing waves and the sun beating down upon me, I had found, a vision quite literally erupted into my experience.

Chevalier! It has gone the time for you to arise to new challenges.

What new challenges would these be? Surely I was on enough quests? Apparently so, because as I explored this new nom-de-guerre I intuited that this training had already begun and that it wasn’t a quest more about a series of training steps that I was going to be put through. Why, of course, is always a question on my lips. And equally one that rarely gets answered. This post is merely to note that, in Dungeons and Dragons terms, I have upped a level.

Kal Malik Chevalier!
