A day of silence? Really? It was going to be impossible. How was I supposed to be silent for a day, well actually it was around 6 hours, but still. At least we were going on some sacred journey and we were visiting the medicine wheel again. And of course there were some amazing (albeit silent) company.

It was a sunny day that we set off up into the hills (I hear that there are rattle snakes) and towards the medicine wheel. I wrote a post about my introduction to this ancient wisdom teacher and the test it put me through. It was tempting, but I think I passed favourably. We will see. Whereas the first time was a personal visit sans dowsing rods, this time it would be in the company of a group and with no dowsing support. Ah well, time for non-metal intuition access.
The medicine wheel is in the shade of a small wood. Over the years an entrance to the wheel has been established and (as my dowsing rods confirmed) it was a good entrance. There was also a place of preparation that had been established, however for me, there was a different place to prepare. Fortunately the group was kind of do what feels right to you kind so I was able to move off and prepare in my own way and fashion. Which in essence meant I could go the eaves of a small bush and stand, allowing my energies and the place to balance.
When I felt ready, I moved towards the entrance of the wheel. By this time I was the last one to enter and in fact most of the others had finished their commune. Knowing that the Genius Loci takes into account all energies (people) that are present I wondered whether to wait until it was all clear or to proceed (an easy question to answer when one has dowsing rods).
Since I had no expectations of what kind of experience I would be having, I decided to step into the wheel. It was a slow process, as if I was walking through treacle. I wonder why it was like this. I stopped for many moments at each spoke of the wheel. As if each needed its own resonance to permeate me before proceeding to the next. Had I come with a purpose, I wondered. No. This was a place of answers and I had no questions. These were the kind of things that were on my mind as I walked the wheel. Then it occurred to, of course. It wasn’t answers for me, but questions. The questions that were locked within my chest, within a book, that was called the Emerald Dragons Soul book. That quest seemed like an Albion quest, but why should it be? After all, it was born in Ireland and begotten in Greece. Why not? Could a question be discovered in this sacred place?
I arrived at the centre of the wheel and looked around to find the place deserted, I was the last. I opened myself up to the Genius Loci of the place and (as before) it plucked a memory from my mind. This time it was when I had guerrilla dowsed (climbed) to the top of Silbury hill. I wonder why it chose that one? Could there be some relation betwixt the two? Dowsing rods anyone?
For the most part I have felt that the questions have dissolved out of me. At the medicine wheel it was an entirely different feel to the question coming forth. For, indeed, one did. But there was no process, no feeling of it coming. It was just there.
What have you lost?
That was it, simple and silent. A bit of an anti-climax really. But, who am I to argue? Of course I checked in with the dowsing rods when I returned to my lodgings. Yes indeed. This was a bona-fide question.
