Tarot for Elemental Angels

Posted on April 3, 2014April 4, 2014 By Gwas 2 Comments on Tarot for Elemental Angels
Elemental Angels, Tarot

As you know I can’t say the name of the elemental angels that I am working with, but I can tell you something about them and their role in my future. I did a tarot reading asking one fundamental question – what is the nature of their relationship with me? The results chimed so clearly with the drawn cards and with the way that I experienced their arrival that I felt I had to write it down.

In the detail below some recurring themes emerged:-

  • the angels command and demand a great deal of respect
  • they offer the potential for a large amount of knowledge, skills and learning generally
  • there were lots of “vessels” cards indicating a strong emotional involvement
  • there were lots of “bows” cards indicating strong spiritual elements

Let me show you now how each of the draws revealed something useful about the forthcoming relationship.

FIRE ANGEL

Question: What are the features of my relationship with the fire angel?
Deck: The Wildwood Tarot
Spread: The Pathway Spread
Date: 23 Mar 2014

kingofvesselsThe Issue
King of Vessels • Heron

“Greeting the dawn, often alone, the Heron is reputed to be gifted with psychic perception and reflection.

The guardian of many esoteric secrets, it is said to stand at the gateway between life and death and to act as mediator on the soul’s journey to the Celtic otherworld and reincarnation.”

Journal: Best worked with at dawn and when alone this angel offers a gateway into the Otherworld.

eightofbowsAction to Avoid
Eight of Bows • Hearthfire

“A hearthfire gives warmth and light in the deep midwinter. Warmth of life, love and friendship are shared generously.

There is a sincere desire for celebration, security and harmony shared with companions and kindred spirits. This also leads to the attainment of innermost peace and the feelings of personal well-being and achievement.”

Journal: Avoid sharing any intimacies or warmth with this fire angel!! Keep the relationship on an intellectual plane.

nineofbowsAction to Take
Nine of Bows • Respect

“When nearing the heart of a sacred quest, motivation and integrity of human desires are challenged. Ancient wisdom demands the seeker be humble and forgiving.

Respect for others and for the environment is required to proceed along the path to enlightenment. There is no completion without overcoming the challenge.”

Journal: Treat this angel with the utmost respect and care. Always use protection in its presence when calling it.

EARTH ANGEL

Question: What features will define my relationship with the earth angel?
Deck: The Wildwood Tarot
Spread: The Pathway Spread
Date: 23 Mar 2014

threeofbowsThe Issue
Three of Bows • Fulfilment

“Nourishment from a spiritual source gives inner security and joy.

Goals and desires are reached, making life rich with emotional scrutiny and a sense of completion.”

Journal: This angel provides a sense of security and a strong sense of fulfilment in spiritual work.

queenofvesselsAction to Avoid
Queen of Vessels • Salmon

“Sacred in most shamanic systems for many reasons, the Salmon’s ability to swim upstream to its birthplace and spawn is one of its most remarkable feats.

The journey leaves the Salmon exhausted and most die in the attempt; thus, they represent self-sacrifice and wisdom. Salmon were said to swim in pools overhung by hazel trees and to eat the nuts of wisdom that fell in autumn.”

Journal: Have the wisdom to avoid becoming exhausted by working with this earth angel.

nineofbowsAction to Take
Nine of Bows • Respect

“When nearing the heart of a sacred quest, motivation and integrity of human desires are challenged. Ancient wisdom demands the seeker be humble and forgiving.

Respect for others and for the environment is required to proceed along the path to enlightenment. There is no completion without overcoming the challenge.”

Journal: Have a great deal of respect and humility for this earth angel if you want to work effectively.

WATER ANGEL

Question: How can my relationship with the water angel be best realised?
Deck: The Wildwood Tarot
Spread: The Pathway Spread
Date: 23 Mar 2014

10ofarrowsThe Issue
Ten of Arrows • Instruction

“A parent passes on skills, wisdom and ancestral ways with love and tolerance.

Instruction and communication are required between the generations to help use old skills in new ways.”

Journal: The patient water angel will offer instruction and teaching.

kinfofbowsAction to Avoid
King of Bows • Adder

“At this time of year, the Adder represents serpentine Earth energies rising from the ground into the air and intertwining, as male adders struggle for dominance. (Sometimes this is mistaken for a mating ritual.)

They also represent magical power, balance and the healing arts.”

Journal: Avoid working with earth energy when dealing with the water angel. Don’t use the water angel for healing tasks.

hoodedmanAction to Take
The Hooded Man

“The Hooded Man offers a steadfast light in the midwinter world and a steady staff on which to lean and gather your mental resources. His shining lamp illuminates the darkest recesses of fear and incomprehension and guides the way to the doorway that leads into the heart of the great tree. Knowledge is light and is sometimes only earned with sacrifice and stoicism. Such things offer admittance to the great mystery. This time of rebirth is both inward and mystical, and yet outward and universal, beyond the narrow boundaries of human civilization and moral codes.”

Journal: Through Precious is a deep access to the heart of the mysteries and the world tree.

AIR ANGEL

Question: How will my relationship with the air angel be manifested?
Deck: The Wildwood Tarot
Spread: The Pathway Spread
Date: 23 Mar 2014

3ofstonesThe Issue
Three of Stones • Creativity

“An artist listens to the inner voice and hears the wind song of the universe.

The courage, freedom and skill that allow the artist to mediate this energy must be refined and focused for effective and meaningful achievement.”

Journal: Mediation of the subtle energy must be refined and focused once gained.

archerAction to Avoid
The Archer

“The bow’s importance for most of early mankind, both as a tool for survival and for defence, cannot be underestimated. It is for this reason, perhaps, that it has also become a spiritual symbol, and that the drawing and releasing of an arrow is sometimes seen as a ritualistic practice in its own right. We must tune in to this ancient process and become archers with quivers full of ideas and desires, capable of forming and focusing our aim in the steady drawing of our will and then loosing our creative and intellectual drive in a controlled and effective way.”

Journal: Avoid becoming too focused on a specific aim when working with the air angel. Let the relationship be flowing and free – with no fixed agenda or request.

ancestorAction to Take
The Ancestor

“The Ancestor greets you as you walk up the path that leads to the forest. She carries the wand of wisdom and the drum that summons all who can hear to gather and watch the sun rise. The Ancestor is blessed by the land, and by the divine knowledge that flows from the stars. She is a guardian of the sacred heart of the land and summons you by beating the drum to the heartbeat of the Earth. It is the part of you that unconsciously heard the drum and stirred the desire to walk the path at work here. This is a beginning. Once through the gateway you must strive to stay on the path and see the journey through to the end.”

Journal: Work with the air angel by getting in tune with the angel’s heartbeat and using your acquired wisdom to follow and intuitive approach to working with it. “An artist listens to the inner voice and hears the wind song of the universe.”

This reading was a reminder that it is not the medium that is important, nor the tools which perform the task which govern the message. It is the content and the connection which determines the outcome with divination work. Here I was using a mobile phone application to draw the cards and focus my attention on the outcome. I was presented with another stunningly meaningful reading which reveals so much about how I can work with these new energy forms that have elected to partner my work this year.

Thanks for showing your cards and your spread. It’s always informative to see how someone else is using the Wildwood to gain information about this Earth work we do! A Very Merry Spring to you and Kal!

My pleasure. I think the Wildwood deck is fast becoming my favourite. You know when you find a deck that you don’t need to go to the guidance to interpret? That’s how it is now – so in tune with the way I work. Yet, as you say – it’s reassuring to see how others interpret the symbols, pictures and correspondences.
Nevertheless, I often ask for assistance choosing a deck, and it’s nice to be surprised by the result. Makes you work harder, and makes the result more authentic.
