Beltane 2014 p11 – Faeries and a Golden Dragon

In the final post from Brittany I reveal how working with Faery can seem like a double-edged sword. Kal has already spoken about his double-dealings, and has set the scene. I too have once been in this forest and was tracked by a mischievous sprite who attached himself to me making me disorientated and leading me away from where I wanted to be. Let’s say, The Forest of Broceliande has a track record. Nevertheless, I don’t hold any previous behaviour as a template, only as an advisory.

So it is that as I begin to walk down the hill from the Earth Giant’s Lair and into the heart of The Valley of No Return. On my way down I spot a Faery Glade. Its special qualities impinged themselves upon my awareness, that’s the only way I can describe it. I knew I had to visit. It was like a calling, or rather, an invitation to a friend’s house – a friend who was cooking apple pie. So I once more split from Kal, and I head off up to the summit where the energy is strongest.

Footloose in a Faery Glen

Once in the midst of the glade I need to take my shoes off and feel the cooling and grounding qualities of the moss floor. Being seated I am close to the intricate and foreign biodiversity of the plant life around me, and soon I have protection up and can relax into the moment. I can then begin to sense the aliveness, the sheer activity around me, the curiosity, the testing of the protection, the recognition of my energy, and the interactive flows as subtle energy passes between the world of human and faery kind.

That interaction would have sufficed for me, but it seems that faery folk have other ideas, and they begin to form a suggestion to me. As an “honoured guest” (their term) I could open a portal to Faery knowledge, if I choose to do what is required. Hmmm… I’m slightly suspicious, having had interactions with Faery folk before, not all of it beneficial. Cagily, warily, with a good connection to my spirit guide for assistance, I ask, “What would be required to establish such a mutually beneficial link?”

I have to kiss a rock at a special place deeper in the forest. I have to kiss a rock? OK, doesn’t sound too onerous! I accept the offer. I hang around for a while with full protection up, just feeling the reaction to my response, and seeing if I can sense anything else. The only feeling is an excitement amongst the faery folk – an excitement that I am going to do as they have challenged me to do. It all feels “right”. I thank them for their interest, and put my shoes back on. Let’s get going! There are rocks to kiss!!

Before I leave there is another connection into my thoughts. “Please” they say, “Please – you must convince your friend Mike to work with us. It will increase his powers vastly, and more importantly it will restore his faith.” What an odd thing to say! I had no idea that his “faith” was in any way challenged! Nevertheless, I promise to mention it to him. Then the choice is his.

Kissing The Crag

Kal and I meet up again and I tell him that I’m on a faery-inspired quest. He’s twice as suspicious as I was, but I assure him it’s for the best. Even worse, I use the dowsing rods to lead me to the point where the rock is located. The rods point not to a rock within easy reach, but to one situated at the very top of a ridge which towers high above the forest roof! Oh boy! Kal states that he’s going to wait at the bottom to clear up the mess when I fall. I consider leaving my worldly goods with him in case of disaster, yet I feel strangely confident, despite the near-vertical ascent. I’m off without a second thought!
Kissing the Cliff - Broceliande Forest - Brittany 2014 (2) (Large)
Difficult to appreciate how precarious and high this is!
It isn’t an easy climb on the face of it, yet I make it seem easy. Somehow I’m leaping up, sticking like glue to every sheer rock face, no hands used at all, yet my feet are nearly vertical at times. Within a few minutes I am at a rock which has caught my eye, and which is at the peak of the perilous cliff. Catching hold of it to prevent myself falling back down the enormity of the situation suddenly dawns on me, as though I’ve been in a trance up to that point. I’m 300 feet up a sheer cliff face with only a rock and some scrub grass to cling to!

I quickly kiss the rock, saying in my mind that this is a symbol of my friendship with the Faery Race, and that I wish this endeavour to strengthen the bond between us. This spills out unscripted. I cling to the rock waiting to see if there is a response. There is. I am told that if I need Faery help then I have to whistle the opening bars of “Drip, Drip, Drop, Little April Shower” which is a song in the Disney film Bambi!!!! This will call the Faery close by to assist me with whatever I need. So, it was worth the effort. My head is beginning to swim with the height and precariousness of my position, so I slowly begin to crawl up to what I hope might be a path.

I’m lost now. There’s no way I’m going back down what I’ve just come up! I decide to use my new-found call to see if it works, asking for the Faery folk to guide me to a path. In less than twenty steps I drop onto a path which snakes along the top of  the cliff. So… that was bound to happen, right? Inevitable. An obvious coincidence. I thank the Faeries anyway.

As I reach the bottom again Kal has disappeared. I consider calling the Faeries to help, but something is telling me to use it only when I need it, not to abuse the relationship. So, out come the dowsing rods, and within two minutes I’ve located Kal. We chat and I find that Kal has been having similar experiences with Faery, and that he was also told to sing a song to get their attention!! Another coincidence, of course. This forest is creating a lot of coincidences.

The Final Gift

On the way back to the car park I spot a portal to Faery. Don’t ask me how. By now I’m so “into” this forest and its ways that I feel like I could live here forever. I just “see” this grove of trees which I “know” is a portal. And I know there is something inside. Something which I am being directed towards, something useful to me. There is a rope of energy coming out from the dark interior of the grove. Do I dare pull it? Of course I do!

On the other end of the rope is tethered a golden dragon. It is snarling and twisting, as though captivity does not suit it. I pull it toward me then turn my back as it reaches my energy body, in order to accept it into my aura. I open my arms out to draw it in, and it coils around me, settling within the energy of my aura. The chain drops, and it is free. Free to be with me.

It is a  gift from the Faeries of Broceliande! I do a quick bit of dowsing to confirm this – indeed – it IS a gift. A special gift that I will find useful soon.

As we approach the car I mention the nature of the “gift” to Kal and he freaks out, saying it’s a trap! He begins to dowse with a “tut tut” look on his face as he does so, as though every response from his rods it telling him this is bad. I do some dowsing myself and get a different response – the dragon IS a gift, and a beneficial one too. Kal dowses that my dowsing is affected by the faery trap. I ask my Spirit Guide to protect me from false readings and dowse that there is no such malign faery influence at work.

What now? Who’s right? Who’s wrong? Have I fallen for a faery trick at the last moment? Find out the truth soon!

      Hello Gwas,
This is wonderful news ! regarding the Dowsing teachings
living in Canada there is a real need for illumination in this
area, recently out of the blue I went out and purchased some
fine chambered pendulums because something pushed me to do so
and so I am very driven to learn how to work with pendulums and rods
to comprehend all preliminary grounding/shielding as well as protecting
myself prior to learning to heal spaces and communicate with appropriate
      respectful eticate.
I am seriously interested ! there are many who should be awakened to
serve in this way, and your knowledge is a sacred star wich those guided would greatly welcome.

Much creative power to you *** kara

Hi Kara, I am travelling to the States and Canada later in the year. Perhaps something can be worked out at that time? Wonderful day to you, Kal
