Song of the Mountain Wind

When I had a day to spare I already knew where I wanted to go to find the Song of the Mountain Wind. Corndon Hill in Shropshire pulled me towards it. Since discovering Mitchell’s Fold stone circle nearby, and then having a remote viewing of a cluster of cairns on the top of the hill, I had wanted to visit it. This day, I felt the added pull of the wind that I knew would be running around on top of that peak, and it became irresistible.

Corndon Hill (2)

That’s not to say it made itself easily accessible. When we arrived we had to work our way around the entire hill looking for an accessible way up before ending back where we started at the car park at the road intersection which has the track to the stone circle coming off it too. The track opposite that would lead to the base of the hill, and would be the starting point for a very steep sharp climb up.

View of path up Corndon Hill

The attraction of the destination was the pull of the mountain wind, yet at the bottom of such a daunting hill both Kal and I looked at each other with a “Do we really have to do this” kind of look. Yes we did. So we set off. It took us about half and hour with frequent stops to give our calf muscles a rest. My word it was steep!

As we got to the top the temperature changed. The wind was racing around the top of the hill and we fastened up our clothing against its worst effects. The views were stunning – you could see for tens of miles around in each direction.

Meditating in a Gale

The wind was ripping at anything it could find. I hunkered down into a slight dip which the dowsing rods said would be the best place to meditate and found that it took the edge off the worst of the cold and noise. Nevertheless, anyone not used to meditating outdoors would probably consider it an impossible place for such work. Luckily, it was a familiar scenario for me and I began to get into a connective state of mind. Soon I was one with the space around me and the forces of Nature within it.

I put up a crystal globe of protection which spanned the whole hill as I worked. Visualising a barbell shape I created a connection to power sources which encompassed sun, moon and earth. At that point I felt like something was about to happen, and sure enough it did.

An unusual time at the Wizards Wood

An unusual time at the Wizards Wood
Forests and Woods, Visions
Nothing to do
Nothing to do

It was a beautiful evening when Chris and I decided to pay a visit to one of our favourite forests. The wood at Alderley Edge. We arrived there in the early evening and the forest was as welcoming as ever. Stepping into the mystical wood we both drew our rods and began to follow them, and follow them, and follow them.

After several minutes we stopped to take stock, something unusual was happening. After taking us to a place of preparation the rods began to take us to some odd places. A tree here, a bush there, a hillock the other. At each place they demanded that we stop, look around, be patient.

Still wandering
Still wandering

If this had happened a couple of times, we probably would have ignored it but it happened again and again. Occasionally I would attempt to elicit an answer to a question and the rods would refuse. Or rather the forest would refuse. Be patient.

When Caileach deals the Tarot you had better pay attention! It was the summer solstice of 2015 and I was at the Hill of Tara. Caileach had appeared and dealt these cards…the whole tale is told here. But what was their meaning? Here is my interpretation, with the help of Bridget of www.biddytarot.com. The Magician … Read More “Cards by Caileach” »

Tabula Rasa at Bryn Celli Ddu

It’s been a week since I returned from Ireland, those amazing events have been documented here. In particular I have been curious about a momentous experience that I had there with that miscreant Caileach. In a hall filled with other knights she had shattered a spiral. Not only that but I had learned later that … Read More “Tabula Rasa at Bryn Celli Ddu” »

Can you speak with the dead?

Can you speak with the dead?
Dragons, Dreams, How To, Merlin, Visions

I am in a quandary of sorts. In a previous post I told of the revelations and revolution of thought surrounding my ancestry. Now here is the thing. Back where my folks are from ancestry is recorded orally, in the minds of living people, passed on from generation to generation. My mum would have been … Read More “Can you speak with the dead?” »

Four Knocks: Second Sight p9 Solstice 2015

Four Knocks is an amazing place. I am convinced that there is something TARDISy about it. From the outside a small mound. On the inside a huge chamber. Go figure! It was the summer solstice of 2015 although from a personal point of energetic view I felt it was more like the solstice yesterday (and … Read More “Four Knocks: Second Sight p9 Solstice 2015” »

Summer 2015 – P4 – Tara Celebrations

Hill of Tara – County Louth, Ireland

It was still the first day of our visit, but we had checked into the B&B in order to get freshened up and prepared for an evening at The Hill of Tara. We were staying in Blackrock – quite a way out from the main attractions, but very reachable in our hire car. The travel gave us thinking and preparation time. Talking of preparation – before I left that evening I decided to do a tarot reading for the events that might happen.

In a bid to get one up on The Future I did some divination. Let’s call it preparation. I drew three tarot cards that would be my guidance for the events that were to come at Tara – one card for the Past, one for the Present and one for the Future:

Tarot for Saturday June 15
Past, present, future: Summer solstice tarot reading for Tara visit

A Quick Reading

At the time I didn’t know what to make of those cards. On the surface they seemed to suggest to me that Tara – the place where my ancestors may have met – was brought out in the Past card.  The Present card seemed to represent an aggressive attempt to capture something naturally difficult to deal with, and this was leading to frustration. I took this to be my strong desire to make spiritual progress and I wondered whether I was going to end up frustrated if nothing happened? Finally, the King Of Vessels seemed to indicate a Future where the emotional responses were under control. The tarot’s related question is “Where is tolerance needed?” That seemed to chime with the other cards. This is the year of patience.

Now it was time to bring the past, present and future together at the Hill of Tara.
