Michaelmas 2026 – Rainbows, Renown and the Blade of Justice

Michaelmas 29th September 2026

The British Pilgrimage Trust had sent me an e-mail recently reminding me that 29th September was the start of the Michaelmas period of eight days dedicated to the Archangel Michael, or Saint Michael depending on your conception of that spirit. I decided I needed to go out an pay my respects, given his recent help with a tricky through-form that we had worked on together.

My place of choice was the scene of that event – St Michael’s Church in Warmington village. I arrived at around noon – for me a perfect time to do such work.

I was directed by the dowsing rods to go back to the porch at the back of the church where I could connect to Michael. As I stood there wondering what to do, a hawk screeched. I knew I was in the right place at the right time. I relaxed a little.

I had brought with me some crystals which I had asked the redoubtable druid Briar to buy for me during her visit to Glastonbury recently. I hadn’t done anything with them yet, but they seemed to be relevant here. In fact, they were operating as a set and their purpose turned out to be just this – to connect better with Michael. Coincidence. Four black tourmalines, a tiger’s eye and a small pillar of clear quartz. The merlinite I’d asked for had been removed as that was going to replace a missing stone in my Merlin Staff.

I set about placing the crystals by dowsing their positions. Once I had done this I looked at the shape – it’s a kind of barrier with a spearpoint by the church door. The four tourmalines were in an arc, the tiger’s eye off to one side, and the quartz prism was pointing to the source of Michael’s power within the locked church. I set up protection, but instead of it being a circle, spiral or globe as usual, it has a different shape. When I closed my eyes a see a whirling blade of energy coming up from behind me and flowing around the front of me like a wheel.

I offered Michael love and joy, and most importantly gratitude for him working with me recently (see Haunted by the Black Monk). All the while the blade whirs around me.

I asked what this energy form is. Michael says this is the Blade of Justice. What is this blade for? It is like his three actions of clearance, protection and strength that he showed me on Iona? Yes, but this is another tool. Its purpose will be revealed very soon.

How soon I didn’t realise! I disconnected and asked if I could connect to my spirit guide St Germain. Yes, but I was taken to a different area of the church, one where there was a female power centre and sunlight through dappled leaves.

As I connected I envisaged a violet flame – his calling card. He made his presence felt, so I asked him about the three aspects he revealed to me recently at The Devil’s Quoits stone circle (see post).

The Rainbow Colour integration

He shows me a standing stone emanating a sequence of rainbow bands of energy. I have seen this formation many times before, in fact I have dowsed it often too. But then I see myself sitting by the stone. My own energies are radiating out in the same rainbow colours. I expand those coloured bands until they are a match for the ones at the stone. And BOOM! I get a massive feeling of power, like I am unlocking something special.

What is the purpose of increasing my power like this, I ask. Germain laughs. To enhance your renown, he says. What? I don’t understand. So I move on to my next question.

Immortality and renown

I ask about the concept of immortality. What is it? Why do I need to explore it?

The answers come back like this. Immortality is the accumulation of personal power through the remembering and re-living of one’s life stories. When you have gone through this process, you are accumulating renown. That word again.

My recovery of the blog is the beginning of this process. I need to review all of the tales, relive them, and recover the renown from them along the way. The reading and the telling of these stories increases my renown. When you have sufficient renown you can achieve immortality of the spirit.

The concept reminds me of a time when Kal revisited many of the people who had either been inspirational in his life, or whom he felt he had slighted in some way. He would either thank them, or apologise to them. It was a painful process for him, and I remember being quite in awe of the strength of character it took to do that. He always was a better man than I. Briar has suggested that the concept of renown may be to be “re-known”, i.e. you are in a process of re-examining and as she termed it “re-understanding”, so that many of the people and concepts that you have worked on already get re-examined to derive more understanding from them.

I moved on to the new concept St Germain mentioned last time we met.

The Akashic Records and the Hall of Ancestors

What of the Akashic Records. What part do they play in this, I ask?

The Akashic Records are just a storehouse. A storehouse of the renown of your ancestors. When you accumulate enough power through the rainbow matching technique, and you have accumulated renown through the reliving and retelling of your stories, then the final aspect of the work is to tap into the renown of your ancestors. You can then relive their stories too, and accumulate more power towards achieving immortality.

NOTE: Briar has suggested that the Akashic Records are an archaic term for what we would now call The Quantum Field (similar to The Field, as discussed by Lynne McTaggert).

Okay (a rather confused OK), but what is this Blade of Justice about? Aha, comes the response, Michael has offered you a tool to recover the renown from the stories of your ancestors. Some of their stories are not correct – out of balance – and you can use the Blade of Justice to set their stories straight. By doing so, you will enhance the renown of your ancestors (essentially honouring them) and be able to accumulate more of that renown power yourself.

So, the Akashic Records thing is like some kind of Valhalla? And I can enhance my own renown, whilst also working with my ancestors to modify their renown, putting it on a truer setting, and I will get something powerful out of doing so? And that process will lead me towards a spiritual immortality of my own?

My head is spinning as fast as the Blade of Justice now. What one earth is all this about? We are soon approaching Samhain – the time when the veil between mortals and ancestors is easily traversed. Will that be a time to begin this ancestral “tidying up”?

I am flummoxed. Aghast. Knocked off kilter. I don’t think, in all of the many strange tales and quests that this blog has thrown up over the years, that I’ve ever dealt with something which is currently so alien to me, and about which I have so little experience.

This coming turn of the wheel is setting up to be something astonishing. or I’m going to look like a real nutter!
