Autumn Equinox 2015 P2 – Moving onwards and upwards

In the second and final part of my Autumn Equinox outing I was still at Pistyll Rhaeadr. I had been told that I could do everything in one place. Now that I had learned The Song of the Waters at the base of the waterfall, it was time to move onwards and upwards.

Taking into account what happened at Dinas Bran I climbed the steep slope very slowly. This was now a deliberate change of pace now that Kal has gone. Everything will be slower and more spanned out now. It’s about quality, not quantity now. One site is enough, done slowly and mindfully.

Beginning the slow climb up Pistyll Rhaeadr

At the top I went to stand on the edge. Kal was an Edge Wizard, and as I faced that inherent fear we have which prevents us from falling from great heights I felt the thrill of being alive. I wished he was here too. I lit three incense sticks in memory of Kal, and lay the Irish green wand alongside them. The green wand’s power was growing, I could sense it. Or was I fooling myself? The Fool was one of Kal’s alter egos – a role he played with gusto. He enjoyed people’s reactions, and only those who could see beyond that began to understand that his wisdom was draped in a motley garb. The water jumped off the edge with an enthusiastic inevitability, pulling, drawing….I gathered the wand and stepped back.

I went to sit under the canopied rock a safe distance back from the edge. Sheltered from the wind and occasional rain I was able to quickly get into a meditative state of mind and call upon my spirit guide to help my work. I looked out down the valley, and as my gaze became fixed and my mind became free I began to see the ages pass. Huts of people came and went; armies marches, fought and dispersed; travellers arrived and left; and the landscape whirled through the seasons and ages in such a rapid succession that I stopped trying to recognise the changes. It was an amazing vision.

There was more to come.

The Axis of Time

This is a post related to the quest “Become The Giant” that I was given at Spring Equinox.

As the weather was fantastic for April, and Kal was eager to go out, I was easily persuaded to venture forth into Wales. Having no destination I suggested Gop Hill. Within half an hour (through heavy commuter traffic) we were zooming down the A55 towards the special hill.

Then, out of the blue, I thought we’d gone past the junction. We’d been chatting and it suddenly occurred to me that I had already gone wrong. Kal suggested a new destination: what about Bryn Celli Ddu on Anglesey? We had time, petrol and inclination. Let’s go!

As we approached the Jubilee Bridge over the Menai Straits I got a different feeling – I should visit Lligwy Chamber – the one part of the “Follow The Bear” (a Great Bear Landscape Zodiac quest) that I hadn’t managed to visit this year. Now was the time, I felt. And for some reason, I knew that the two quests would come together in that location – one to be fulfilled, the other to be expanded.

Feeling The Movement of the Universe

I was shown a cleansing place – one of the lumps of stone outside of the iron-clad fencing around the huge cap-stoned chamber itself. I used the dowsing rods to find the correct alignment for myself – which direction to face whilst cleansing. The detritus of the modern world sloughed off me like a snake’s skin shedding.

Next I was shown to stand on another of the lumpy stones. This time I felt inclined to discover the whereabouts of the Great Bear constellation (Ursa Major). It was directly above me! Perfect, I felt. I closed my eyes and felt something that I have never felt before. I felt that inside my head was a three-dimensional representation of the panorama of stars and galaxies. I could see and feel the gently rotation of the Earth in relation to the backdrop of other energy sources – the stars, moons, planets, asteroids – the whole constellational tapestry, sliding… shifting… swirling.

I nearly fell off the stone several times! With my eyes open the movement became the usual imperceptible shift, but once my eyes closed while standing on this stone then I felt the Universe’s subtle movement in three glorious dimensions.

Delphi – The Hawk, The Shade and The Vapours

The Hawk Vision

Standing in the amphitheatre half way up the Delphi temple complex I had beautiful scenes in either direction down the valley. Yet, it was not the scenery that captured the imagination, but the sonics of that space. I still find it incredible how perfectly mathematical the calculations were for such structures. Standing in the “play space” – a crescent of smooth stone at the base of the structure – I could project the smallest whisper upwards with no effort until it was amplified around the seats above. Incredible. Every time I visit an amphitheatre it amazes me. I imagined how it could enhance a sound vibration in a meditation – imagine a didgeridoo here!

Above the Delphic amphitheatre – playing with hawks

The dowsing rods then lead me upwards on a small path that seems to lean nowhere. That ‘nowhere’ turns out to be a vantage point above the amphitheatre affording a holistic view over the feature. I begin to get a ‘feeling’, and so I pay attention to it. The feeling exerts itself as an impulse, then emerges into a voice. “Sit back and relax!” it says to me. I look behind me and see a rock large enough to lounge against, and with a convenient ‘seat’. So, I sit down. “Lean back and relax!” I am instructed. OK, no harm in having a moment’s rest in the sun – I am on holiday, after all.

I am now practically lying back on the rock. My gaze goes skyward, and at that exact moment I hear the cries of a bird of prey slightly behind me. I look right up into the sky and see two hawks come out from the top of the cliffs behind me, performs a few circles, and then move back out of sight again. Wow! I wait to see if they re-appear, but they don’t. That moment was just for me to see.

The “inkling” leaves and I return to the dowsing rods to lead me onwards. They now stop me at a point in the path where the main path carries on upwards with its modern stone tessellation, but there is an alternate path – one which is overgrown but somehow ‘older’. The rods point over the restraining rope towards the old path, the lush green path, the path that leads into the woods. Time to make a decision.

Carrowkeel – Recovering ancestor energies

Ancestors, Ancient Sites, Dowsing

At the beginning of May 2012 I persuaded Kal to come to Ireland. He would be the sidekick to my long-awaited quest to recover my ancestor egergies. I say that like I know what “recover ancestor energies” meant. I didn’t have a clue when we landed at Knock Airport on a dull morning and picked … Read More “Carrowkeel – Recovering ancestor energies” »

Recently I had been speculating on setting off on a journey somewhere in the world and thinking of combining this with some energetic exploration I thought I would visit, what I … Read More “4000 thousand year old tree wisdom” »

Anglesey – Part 1: Bryn Celli Ddu, Caer Leb and Ty Mawr

Ancient Sites, Dowsing

Anglesey, Wales – August 25th, 2008 This is Part 1 of a three-part write-up of a visit by Kal and I to Anglesey. We visited several interesting ancient sites, dowsed them all, and as ever we both learned more and were more puzzled by some of the results. In Part 2 and 3 you can … Read More “Anglesey – Part 1: Bryn Celli Ddu, Caer Leb and Ty Mawr” »
