“The universe is big really big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is…” THHGTTG.
The story so far…Gwas will be able to inform you how long we have been exploring the energetic paths of the world…however on the journey we have learned a lot, discarded some things, gone back and picked them up again and generally been puzzled, bemused, astounded and delighted sometimes all four simultaneously.
For those who are wondering if there are any frontiers left to explore – well, my dear friends – the surface hasn’t even been scratched – Gwas and I have a map – and it has only these words on it – “Here there be dragons” or more aptly “Here there be dragon lines”.
In this post I am going to outline some of the puzzles that we have encountered so far –
Named places – Gwas’s inability to find the Wizards Well in Alderley Edge forest prompts the (rather frustrating) question ‘Why can’t I dowse for named places?’
People correlation – Although in most instances Gwas and I can find the same energies – for example see Arbor Low (1-3) where every energetic phenomena was completely correlated by the both of us – sometimes we get differing results – i.e. although we both find energetic signatures – the representation of these is different. We have come up with some theories for this but don’t know how to test them
Male and Sun – One of the strangest things that I have found is that in some sites Male correlates with Sun and Female with Moon (again see Arbor Low 1-3) at other sites (see Nine Ladies: A King reveals his secrets) these do not correlate – i.e. where I got Male energy I didn’t correspondingly get Sun energy. – I have suggested a theory for this that needs testing. Also note that Earth does not and has not correlated with Neutral!
Energetic Reversal – In some places I have found that walking in one direction I will get a indication of Male energy, however walking the same path in the opposite direction I get a opposite indication of Female energy – this phenomena was notable in our visit to Anglesey. Speculation: we didn’t actually visit any stone circles there – just standing stones and cairns – so maybe this is phenomena that is related to sites other than circles?
Manifestation of Energy Patterns – I mention this here not so much as a puzzle but as an investigative note. Gwas and I have manifested energy patterns in various places using different meditative practices. However we need to investigate what this means beyond that – is there any purpose to them – can we use them and why do they take the shape they do – how long do they last – is it just energetic graffiti?
Levels of energy – our way of determining energy has been the strength of the rod twists – for example at Arbor low I have a fantastic response thus I assume that it is a strong place. But we really need to determine strength in another way.
Stonehenge – no offence meant – but why was it so crap? Energetically it was a pig’s ear! Gwas and I got better results in Alderley Edge forest – but why?
Purpose – We have just recently moved into this realm of investigation however for the moment we are puzzled – how do we dowse for the purpose of a site? We can dowse for the purpose of a stone or a small energy circle – or as I like to call them Fairy Ring – but how can we dowse site-wide?
Symbiosis – At this time we are exploring the ways in which we can interact in a symbiotic (AND conscious) way with the energy of a site specific and energy in general. An interesting recent development for me was that ‘No’ response to using Reiki energy on the central stone at Arbor Low (see Arbor Low Part 3). This confuses and begs plenty of questions – for a start isn’t the energy of the site the same ‘Chi’ energy as Reiki? Why can’t Reiki be used? and why could it at Nine ladies?! Other questions such as whether this site’s energies are good to use and how to use them are all relevant to begin working in a symbiotic relationship.
Who’s there? – An interesting question that we keep bumping into in our coffee breaks is – who or where is the information coming from when we ask questions? There are many candidates and personally I haven’t ruled out any – some candidates are: higher self, some super conscious, Akashic records, ascended masters, other – non earthly entities – fairies – god – nature – some malignant being(s) that are leading us down the garden path. Of course some of these seem more plausible than others but personally I think it is an important question – it would not do good to ‘ASS out of U and ME’ and then get stomped on as Gwas would say!
Questions – As THHGTTG says – ‘Your problem is, you are asking the wrong question’ As we have progressed along the path one of the main points of interest has been the evolution of our questions. At certain points we have gone – “Ahhhh, we need to ask that in a different way” and this seems to be the way forward in many regards – we have sat in the coffee lounge expounding about questions and then going to a site only to be confounded by new conundrums!
Celestine Prophecy – Points out that greater growth in understandings can be achieved when we ‘play-off’ each other in discussions and experiences. This I believe was quite evidential on our last trip to Arbor Low – and now that I think of it in the past too – our quantum steps in understanding (I use that word very loosely) have been when we have been exploring together – being able to bounce ideas and experiences of each other dynamically seems to be a good seed to growth. Oh, and that’s what the Celestine Prophecy books are all about – in case you’re wondering about the cryptic title!
Messages – Gwas and I have had messages during meditations at energetic sites. The meaning of these is perplexing and in need of exploration:
- “You are not a Druid – you are a magician who creates his own worlds?” – Kal – Alderley Edge, on the wizards walk.
- “The sun is the door and the moon is the key” – Gwas – Nine Ladies
- “You are not clean enough” – or “You are not energetically pure enough” – Kal – Nine Ladies
I’m sure I have left plenty out of this assessment of our position and thus will leave Gwas to fill in the many (and in some cases obvious) blanks

Indeed I can tell you just how long we’ve been following the thrashing tails of the dragon that weave their way through this planet. We’ve been dowsing since last July.
This cat and mouse game between us and the energies has evolved in just over a year into a hunt to rival Herne. Every time we sift through the metaphorical embers of an ancient circle or cromlech, a chamber or mound, I can almost feel the presence of the stone-makers and the people who met there: gently mocking our fumbling and stumbling, respecting our curiosity, occasionally rewarding correct modes of thought with undeniable hints of the power and purpose of the place.
Some days, like you, I feel it is the elements of sun, water, stone and earth that shape the ambience; some days it is Nature in all her fullness who speaks to us through stones, trees and rings of grass; some dull days I only feel a missing presence, like the day after a party, and someone has cleared up really thoroughly!
With this post a stake in the ground marks our position along the path, the passage of our time. It measures our progress, and remind us of how far we still have to travel.
I must know the purpose of these sites, their operation, their use to us now. I wish to awaken the King Under The Mountain. My mind is the King, this land the mountain.
