The Ghost Box

Ghosts and shades, Paranormal

I recently stumbled across the Ghost Box phenomenon. I don’t know quite how one randomly stumbles across something like this, but I did, and it seemed quite appropriate to the work I am engaged with at this time of the year. For those not aware of what a Ghost Box is, it’s a radio receiver that has been modified to continuously scan across the frequencies.

Why do this? Well, the result is something quite odd – it seems that by doing this you make a device that offers trapped souls a gateway to communicate with the living. Oh yes, that’s how it appears. I mean, there could be lots of things going on here, but some of the recording seem quite genuine. You do have to attune your ears to the responses, and sometimes I have had a different interpretation to that presented by the video blogger, and sometimes I haven’t been able to make anything out at all. Yet there are some occasions where it is simply astounding, whether a trick or not.0

I urge you to have a listen for yourself and see what you think. Even for its entertainment value it is worth donating fifteen minutes of your time. If you’re not convinced try some of the other related videos – there are plenty to choose from.

And finally, of course, the James Randi followers and their fleet of obvious explanations:

It’s all just “pareidolia“, so you can go back to sleep now. Good night. Move along. Tricksy little brain, it is, tricksy.

Though I hate to agree with Randi, on this, he’s right. I’ve seen the Ghost Box used and it just plays timed bursts of radio programmes. On one investigation, listened to objectively, it was clear that the words picked up were “Shot down” and were part of a previously heard bit about a helicopter crash. Those who were in the room with the box, waiting for an answer to “What happened to you in this room?” convinced themselves they had heard, “She died” but it is pure imagination, the recording was very clear.

I have heard real EVPs. You don’t need expensive radio equipment, just an audio recorder.

EVPs are not something that I really place much value in. I think that all work with energy forms should be done through the interface of the mind. I came across the Ghost Box idea and it seemed feasible, but I would always wish to do any communication through meditation rather than electronically.
Thanks for posting your story in our comments section. I too have had profound experiences at West Kennet and can fully sympathise with the profound effects it can have upon people. So glad to hear that you also came home to druidry. Funny how the calling has always been there when you are forced to examine your life. Just what happened to me!
