Learning more about “the dress”

In this post I told you about my intuitive push towards buying a dress. I know, it sounds weird to me too. Gosh! However, since Chris and I were out hunting answers at sacred sites, I thought that I  might try and discover more about this departure from the norm. It was approaching mid-day when … Read More “Learning more about “the dress”” »

Direction from the River Dee

Needs must when you realise that you’ve forgotten something important and you’re not in the ‘right place’. Through a series of unfortunate events I had come to realise that I was not on “the path” – I wasn’t following my correct course of action in accordance with my spiritual direction. I knew this because I had succumbed to a cold that my wife had been sporting for a few weeks. As she got better I caught the offending cold. Now usually I simply breeze past such things with nary a glance, but this one had my full attention. It was all so unnecessary and I didn’t even feel like I had a proper illness – it was merely a ‘reminder’ that I was off course.

Several other happenings substantiated this condition of malaise, of dis-jointedness. They all culminated in my being offered an interview for a job. I have recently gone independent, as you know (see Reconstellation.com). I wasn’t really wanting to be put straight back where I had just escaped from, but this job was a shoe-in – a complete match for what I had been doing, and with the added attraction of working for a small company in the local area. Dammit – when temptation comes it comes in the form you most admire! I needed help to make a decision – back to where I was or continue on my new course?

In addition I had forgotten to ask for what my quest was for the time between Samhain and Winter Solstice! How could that have happened? Well, because I was seriously “off course”, that’s why! I needed to get back on, and quickly! Hence, with the restrictions I had on time and distance I opted for the nearest large water course – the River Dee. For some reason I felt I needed water. Water would help me decide.

The Cold Harsh Reality

River Dee - Nov 14 (1) (Medium)
The River Dee on a cold day

With some to-ing and fro-ing in Kal’s car we made it to the bank of the River Dee. At this point the river has been cultivated to run straight. The area is called Deeside, and soon the river runs out into the estuary to mingle with The Irish Sea. It felt industrial and unwelcoming, yet there was a certain power emitted from the expanse of water which made me sure it could help me. I considered my questions and prepared for my encounter with the spirit of the River Dee.

Samhain 2014: What about the Tarot?

Okay, in all the excitement of my Samhain outing, I completely forgot that I had taken my Tarot cards with me until I took them out of my pouch at home. With some shock at my lack of presence I quickly grabbed the rods and asked whether I could still do some work with them? … Read More “Samhain 2014: What about the Tarot?” »

A sacred life defined part 01

Holy smoke! It has been an age (or so it seems) since I have added an update to Hedge Druid. Life – of the mundane kind – has got in the way. Well, it hasn’t really, to be more accurate, visits to sacred sites have had to be put on hold whilst both Chris and … Read More “A sacred life defined part 01” »

The Portal Prison

Crossing The Hedge, Death Eating, Healing, Hedge Druidry, Quests, Trees, Visions

This tale occurs just before my quest to “Kill Gwas” – something which I have almost fulfilled. I was invited to go to the Llangernyw Yew in the middle of August. Kal needed some urgent answers about his future direction, and I am always looking to go out and meet ancient yew trees. We always seem to get work to do when communing with the ancient yew, and it is usually related to death energy or learning about The Underworld. No exception today.

On arrival I asked to be taken to a place where I could learn something. I was taken to a quiet spot underneath one of the smaller yew trees, and there I felt I needed to cleanse. To get rid of the worldly energies that I brought with me. In the last month I have realised that much of our work is a process of cleansing, energising and synergising (integrating the new energy to transform). I now call this process “Reconstellation” (see Reconstellation.com)

The Brain Trust

After cleansing I was taken to a power centre which was in front of a specific gravestone. As I stood in the flow of its energy I began to connect to the nearby mighty yew tree. Once in communication I was able to ask the question:

“Why am being shown this grave stone?”

I was at the grave of a lady called Gwyneth Parry I found that I will be able to heal the disease that she died of. I felt the spirit of  The Green Man come though to me, as he had done before in this graveyard. I asked to be given information about what this grave meant to me. A few seconds later the phrase “brain tumour” came to mind. I have no idea if this is correct, because I can’t validate that yet. However, what I could validate was whether I was able to energetically affect brain tumours. The astonishing result of that enquiry is … yes, I am told I can. Now I need to give that a go and see if it’s true in practise, rather than in theory. I am looking to contact some cancer charities to see if energetic healing is on their radar at all.

I asked if there was anything else I needed to consider, and The Otter card from the Wildwood Tarot came to mind. It had been the forgotten aspect of my tarot draw for the Ireland Summer Solstice trip. Now I was being invited to consider these aspects:

“Contemplating things with a considerate heart.  Learning trust.  Serving with love. Refusing to listen. Living only in the imagination.” (source: Wildblog!)

Otter – Page of Vessels

I think I understand. I would need to be single-minded about the move I was about to make – the leap of faith as I launched my new business alone. I needed to trust, to be considerate of others in this process, and to refuse to listen to the doubters who might scoff at the idea that I could make a living doing this “new age nonsense”, as many would no doubt think of it.

But the best was yet to come. That was the easy stuff! Now came something altogether more testing!

Ladies and Gentlemen – the time has come. If you have been following this blog for any amount of time then you will be familiar with a character called Gwas. Over the years you will have witnessed his journey from a fledgling dowser and druid. Where has Gwas ended up at this point, though? Gwas … Read More “Who is Gwas? All is revealed!” »

Understanding The Energy of Hills – Summer 14 P11

Drombeg stone circle, West Cork, Country Cork, Ireland.

Finally, we have arrived at the last of my posts in the Summer Solstice set (for all the series see this link). It has taken much longer than expected, not only due to the number of posts that the visit generated, but also due to issues with the blog stability that we have now hopefully traced and resolved. Thank you for bearing with us during this particularly extended period of disruption. Sometimes the Universe communicates to us in peculiar ways, and certainly for me the gremlins have struck at my very heart by disrupting this blog. However, re-alignment is taking place, and I am confident that soon you will see a more unified approach to the blog. You’ll see what I mean very soon. For now, let’s finish this set of stories.

Entrance Of The Initiate

Drombeg stone circle - June 14 (5) (Medium)
Fuchsia bushes line the entrance to Drombeg stone circle

After a steep and narrow descent around Drombeg we arrived at a startlingly spacious car park, and then proceeded along the hedge-lined path to the stone circle itself. Along the way we passed a couple who had camped in the circle the previous evening. They looked like they had had an interesting evening! Along the path the fuchsia bushes reminded me of the wonderful floral displays on Iona that we had seen in September 2012.

There were several things to see at the site. Obviously, the circle, but we’ll come to that. Elsewhere there were some smaller oval and circular enclaves which were labelled as “Fulachta Fiadh” – more ‘cooking pits’ it seems. Hmmm… As I sat on the ridge overlooking the site and connecting to the area I had a vision of how the structures were used. I saw a young man being escorted by a hooden and robed figure. He was led into the covered dome structure. Inside he was put through a ‘sweating’ process and then left alone for the night. During the night he emerged and walked into the stone circle to meditate. That relationship seemed to replicate the way I felt about the Dromagorteen circle too.

Now it was time for my own initiation into the circle mysteries!
